The Miami Symphony Orchestra (MISO), the official symphony orchestra of the City of Miami, proudly celebrates a major milestone: Maestro Eduardo Marturet’s 20th anniversary as Music Director and Conductor.
Since taking the podium in 2006, Maestro Marturet has guided MISO through an artistic transformation that shaped it into one of Miami’s most dynamic cultural institutions. Under his leadership, the orchestra has become known for its diverse programming, world premieres, and deep community connections.
Two Decades of Innovation and Inspiration
Over the past twenty years, Maestro Marturet has redefined MISO’s sound and spirit. He introduced bold collaborations with international soloists, presented groundbreaking Latin American premieres, and created unique cross-genre performances that capture Miami’s multicultural energy.
“Celebrating 20 years with the Miami Symphony Orchestra is deeply personal to me,” shared Maestro Marturet. “When I first arrived in Miami, I envisioned building an orchestra that would not only perform great symphonic works but also embody the city’s unique cultural energy. What we have achieved fills me with gratitude and pride. This anniversary is not just about looking back, but about continuing to dream forward.”
A Season of Symphonic Highlights
To mark this historic anniversary, MISO will present an exceptional 2025–2026 concert season at the Adrienne Arsht Center’s Knight Concert Hall, featuring four major events that blend classical excellence with innovative spirit.
Grand Season Opening – November 16, 2025
The season begins with a spectacular performance featuring Wagner, Dvořák, and Rachmaninoff, joined by soprano Catherin Meza (in collaboration with Florida Grand Opera) and cellist Anna Litvinenko.
Latin American Soundscapes – February 1, 2026
This concert celebrates Latin America’s musical richness with pianist Juan Diego Molina, electric bass virtuoso Rodner Padilla, and the Venezuelan folk ensemble C4 Trio as special guests.
American Promise – March 8, 2026
A program that reflects Miami’s evolving cultural identity, inspired by composer Karen LeFrak and celebrating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The evening includes the world premiere of Marcos Campos’s “An American in Miami,” a playful and vibrant new work.
Grand Season Finale – May 3, 2026
A powerful finale featuring narrator Tatiana Guiribitey and double bass soloist Luis Gómez-Imbert. The concert includes the world premiere of Chick Corea’s Concerto for Double Bass, arranged by Maestro Marturet himself — a fitting close to a landmark season.
A Vision for the Future (Maestro Eduardo Marturet 20th Anniversary)
In recognition of his enduring impact, Maestro Marturet’s tenure has been renewed, ensuring that his artistic vision will continue shaping MISO’s future. His partnership with Emilio Estefan, now serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors, marks the beginning of a new chapter for the orchestra.

Gran Apertura de Temporada: 16-11-2025
La temporada comienza con obras de Wagner, Dvořák y Rachmaninoff, junto a la soprano Catherin Meza (en colaboración con la Florida Grand Opera) y la chelista Anna Litvinenko.
Paisajes Sonoros Latinoamericanos: 1-2- 2026
Un homenaje a la riqueza musical de América Latina. Con el pianista Juan Diego Molina, el virtuoso del bajo eléctrico Rodner Padilla y el reconocido ensamble venezolano C4 Trío.
Promesa Americana: 8-3-2026
Un programa vibrante que celebra la evolución cultural de Miami e incluye música de Karen LeFrak, en conmemoración del 250° aniversario de la Declaración de Independencia. La velada también contará con el estreno mundial de “An American in Miami” de Marcos Campos. Una obra llena de humor y ritmo.
Gran Cierre de Temporada: 3-5-2026
Un concierto inolvidable con la narradora Tatiana Guiribitey y el solista de contrabajo Luis Gómez-Imbert, que presentará el estreno mundial del Concierto para Contrabajo de Chick Corea, arreglado por el Maestro Marturet. Una fusión perfecta entre clásicos amados y nuevas creaciones.
