Miami is a city that has been renowned around the world for its white-sand beaches, five stars hotels, fascinating fashion shows, Art Basel, and some of the best restaurants in the world. However, our city has also cradled many talented people that have been born here! These people have made us proud in so many ways, and Aaron Johnson is one of them.
When just 17 years old, he has been on the rise since 2015 after being honored at the McDonald’s 365 Black Awards as a Global Youth Community Activist. Since then this young fella has written and produced several successful productions in the theater and film industry.
Aaron also won the 2018 Talented Filmmakers award at the London World Cinema Film Festival in London for his first feature film “Lost”. The trailer was sponsored by the Shaderoom, garnering over 2 million impressions and over 600K views in under 24 hours.
Last week, our team at the Miami Fashion Spotlight had the pleasure to meet Aaron along with celebrity Actress Jasmine Burke from the Hit TV Series “Saints and Sinners” (also the author of the Best-Selling Book “Work Your Audition”) while they were in town hosting Aaron’s Miami All Cast Premiere of Lost on March 10th at the Manuel Artime Theater.
Aaron Johnson and the Film Premiere of “Lost”
Our events blogger brought us a lot of images and videos from that night. He also had a little chit-chat with them at the red carpet. Check it out!
Miami Fashion Spotlight—Diamante Jones: How does it feel to be here in Miami?
Jasmine: It feels absolutely incredible and I’m happy to be here!
MFS-DJ: How excited are you about tonight’s premiere?
Aaron: I am super excited…I’m very excited to see everyone’s reaction to my film “Lost”.
MFS-DJ: What expectations do you want viewers to get or take away after watching the film?
Jasmine: I just want them to enjoy a cinematic experience that was created by Aaron (“Lost” Director), which he wrote and directed at only 17-years-old. So, it’s just an inspiration to say that there’s no telling what you could do once you believe in yourself because that’s what he does. I want people to be inspired by the film tonight.
Aaron: Hopefully, they could take away that life sometimes isn’t all sunshine and rainbows and sometimes we do go through some dark moments. And hopefully, in this film, they could relate to a sudden type of character and could take something from their story in the film.
MFS-DJ: As a person who also writes and directs/produces, what advice or tips would you give to someone like Aaron?
Jasmine: I think that Aaron has it all figured out! Ever since we been on this press tour I can tell that he just knows what to do. He has it and everything else under control and I have faith in him.
