Under the direction of Music Director and Conductor Eduardo Marturet, The Miami Symphony Orchestra opened its season with Russian-American pianist, Lola Astanova on October 5, 2014 at the Adrianne Arsht Center in Miami.
Astanova, who is considered by some to be among the most watched virtuoso performers in the world, brought an unforgettable evening of expressive and technically challenging work to our city, featuring Rachmaninov’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini in a program that also featured Mendelssohn’s Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage, as well as Brahms’ masterful First Symphony, declared “the greatest symphony since Beethoven’s Ninth.”
The concert that was sponsored by Park Foundation gathered the most influential people of Miami’s community in a great night to remember!
