Winter Party Festival kicked off their 2017 bash this year at the National Hotel in Miami Beach. The event took placed on March, 1st, 2017.
Guests got to hangout in the chic venue and enjoy cocktails brought by Bacardí along with music by DJ AJ Reddy.
Jimmie Sprinkles & his “Asstricks Apparel”
The night was filled with good vibes, and glitter. As if glitter weren’t enough, New York based designer Jimmie Sprinkles showcased his latest collection of his clothing line “Asstricks Apparel”.
The relatively new brand is completely unisex and gender fluid. His line is all about “party” and open to anyone that just wants to have fun.
Known for his funky designs, one can find a wide variety of harnesses, bottoms, hats, and tank tops to catch anyone’s eye. “I wanted more color, I wanted more sparkle” he says.
These eclectic pieces are all original designs and he says he draws inspiration from different time periods. His new collection is more of an opulence collection with a lot more lace incorporated into it.
“It’s as if Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette were at a sex party in the 80’s” he adds.
Later on the night, we were also joined by a live special performance from the divas Athena Dion and TP Lords.
TP Lords talks about fashion in Miami!
Born and raised in Miami, TP Lords states “I love Miami’s fashion of course and the nightlife…the LGBT community here is amazing…I’ve been here my whole life and I wouldn’t change it for anything, I hear that Miami’s drag and LGBT community is better than anywhere else” he says.
He also states how California and New York are “kinda dry” and Miami has flavor. She’s currently working on new music and has dreams of going on tour and singing live.
She hopes to have her new music out by PRIDE coming up now in April.
Winter Party Festival’s volunteers & more…
Volunteers Pablo and Hector from Mexico describe the community here in Miami as friendly.
Pablo jokingly adds “We can be very plastic sometimes… but it’s Miami we have to be that Latino friendly community.”
For this reason, when comparing the LA community with Miami, Hector states “The west coast tends to be a lot nicer while the east coast is more in your face.” The night continued with a larger crowd and more beats by the man himself DJ AJ Reddy.
