SWIM week in Miami kicked off with the most anticipated luxury swimwear show at the SLS South Beach on Thursday, July 17, 2014.
Barraca Chic, a line from Switzerland debuted its Resort 2015 Collection featuring Swarovski embellishments, the finest fabrics, and unique silhouettes. Inspiration for the new Resort Collection stemmed from The God’s and Goddesses of ancient Greece, which were highlighted with Greek meanders, asymmetrical silhouettes and metallic gold rhombus prints.
The beachwear brand continued to design contemporary styles that women can wear from lounging in a poolside cabana to sailing through the islands. New styles in the 2015 women’s collection feature a one-piece high-neck, Swarovski detailed swimsuit available in navy and yellow, along with asymmetrical one-pieces embellished with the signature crystal squares.
Its men’s collection of swimming briefs continued to bring the heat to Miami with its low-cut European swimsuits inspired by the Greek Gods: Zeus, Apollo and Poseidon.
The swim briefs were shown in white, navy, olive and coral, incorporating the metallic rhombus print seen throughout the collection. The classic BC swim trunk was shown in olive but is available in a variety of colors and designed with high quality, quick-drying fabric to easily go from a swim to a beachside restaurant.
Accessories included cashmere and silk pareos with the signature Barraca Chic logo and shapes inspired by ancient Greek architecture. For this years show, Nina Shoes accompanied the women’s collection and jewelry was be provided by Arme de L’amour.
Guests included an exclusive assembly of VIP attendees: Larsa Pippen, Henry Santos, Janice Combs, Vincent De Paul and Michelle Aguirre sat front row as the collection hit the runway. The show began at 10 o’clock in the evening at the SLS South Beach located at 1701 Collins Avenue on Thursday, July 17, 2014.
