“Tropico” is a collection inspired by Latin American and indigenous tapestries with prints drawn by hand by Vega herself, mixing vibrant colors and using the stroke of the drawings as a way of expression to create the fabrics.
Femininity dominates this collection along with the combination of street, art, and style. Vega had the collaboration of Alessandra Gold in styling and Kruzin in shoes for her fashion presentation.
“The presentation at the Dominican Republic Fashion Week was very gratifying. This is my first international experience and sharing with so many talented designers was really pleasant!” added Vega.
The designer presented her show along with almost 45 great fashion designers, such as: Cristian Lagares (DR), Edwing D’Angelo (USA), Adrián Alicea (PR), Vicent Blasco (Spain), Jailene Pérez (DR), Jorge David (DR), Pipo Pere (PR), Carolina Socías (DR), Lisa Thon (PR), Arcadio Díaz (DR), Pineda Covalín (Mex), Rosita Hurtado (Bolivia), Marisol Henríquez (DR), and Hernán Zajar (Colombia) among others.
Lisu Vega has gained a great deal of attention after Miami Fashion Week 2014 where she took the major prize home, winning the Eastern Air Lines Flight Attendant Uniform Competition, which include a three-year contract with the airline, a feature in the airline’s retail store at the Miami International Airport, free airline tickets to any EAL destination and a cash prize among other perks.
Congratulations Vega, Keep up the good work!
