Maliparmi made its debut at Miami Fashion Week 2014 on May 17, 2014 at Miami Beach Convention Center. The Italian brand showcased their Spring/Summer 2014 “Gathering” Collection featuring pieces with feminine style and unique prints, bringing the brand to new international horizons.
Our founder and president, Lissette Rondon got an exclusive backstage interview with Antonio Batticciotto, CEO of Maliparmi, where he talked about Maliparmi’s Collection, Miami Fashion Week’s experience, new projects and more.
Lissette Rondon: How did you feel in our city of Miami?
Antonio Batticciotto: I was really happy to have the chance of coming back to Miami. It is always a very nice and fascinating town. I felt at ease as always. And by the way, being Malìparmi’s DNA the prints, the embroideries and the colors, it is in the perfect spirit of the city.
LR: How was your experience at Miami Fashion Week 2014?
AB: The experience has been positive and it allowed us to meet many interesting people and exchange points of view with them.
LR: What was your inspiration for your show last night?
AB: The inspiration for Gathering, “Being yourself with others,” is the key to this collection, which reflects a desire for cohesion and togetherness; to exist as individuals within a group, to participate while retaining our own personality, with everyone sharing the best each has to offer.
LR: What is your next project?
AB: It is a very busy period for us, we are opening our boutique in Paris, in Rue des Saints Pères, 73 and just afterwards we are working on the launch of the new S/S 2015 Collection the Spazio Nomade (Nomade Space) in Milan, that we use as a showroom during the sales campaign.
LR: Your brand is an inspiration for many emerging designers. Would you like to give them any advice for success or inspirational message?
AB: The important thing is putting passion and always doing the things you believe in.
LR: Will ‘Maliparmi’ come back to Miami Fashion Week 2015?
AB: It has been a very interesting experience and for sure we will be happy to come back next time.
