Recently, our fashion Media Miami Fashion Spotlight had the honor of being media partner of Bloomingdale’s Aventura 20th anniversary kickoff celebration.
The fashion celebration kicked off the night with a very unique grass-carpet experience for the celebrities and influencers, re-creating a University stadium as a scenery of the Varsity Inspired runway show that showcased models by “Iconic Model Search – The Reality”, featuring a variety of in store brands and the must-have trends of the season including all shades of red, accessorized accessories, velvets, leather jackets, and much more!
Bloomingdale’s Aventura and the Global Fashion Competition
After the special half time performance by FIU Dazzlers, the highlight of the night followed, which was the Global Fashion Competition by Miami International University of Art & Design to win a scholarship sponsored by Bloomingdale’s International Marketing Team!
A fashionable night!
Celebrities, Interviews and more…
Our team took over the red carpet, taking interviews and sharing our best shots with MFS social media. Check out some of our favorite interviews…
“Ms. Teen Modelo Latina 2016” and Iconic Model Search Miami Winner 2017, Melanie Cruz
MFS: Miami is becoming a fashion city. At what point in your life did fashion become a factor to you?
Melanie: I would say after a year of becoming a model– you really need to get into fashion in-order- for your modeling to be big. Miami is where everything happens like fashion shows, and I think it’s mostly because of the cultures, all the cultures together just makes me say- wow.
MFS: Could you tell us what type of look and brand you are wearing?
Melanie: This is “Whistles”, spring summer 2018 exclusive collection for Bloomingdale’s. I was told there were many more options, but this one is what I wanted…
MFS: What are you looking forward to from tonight’s show?
Melanie: Honestly, just how everything turns out because so far, the make-up team, the hair stylist, and the photographer have been amazing and all the hard work they have been putting in, I just want to see how everything turns out. The teamwork is amazing, and I love it.
Celebrity Fitness Trainer, Adriana Martin
MFS: How excited are you about tonight, I heard that you are on a panel?
Adriana: I’m on a panel, but let me tell you something, feeling good on the outside is important but feeling good on the inside is even better. At any chance you must give back and encourage people that to live their dreams and fulfill their passion is very healthy. It’s healthy for the mind, for the soul, and that’s why I’m excited to be here.
MFS: Could you explain to us, how would you put your style into?
Adriana: It has to be definitely easy to wear. Comfort is the number one thing because that makes me feel good, and when I feel good I think I look better. It has to allow me to express myself. If it’s too tight and I can’t walk fast, I’m not going to be happy–it has to be comfortable cute and sexy, but it also has to let me be free.
MFS: How are you spending your time here in Miami? Its fashion season and what are you most looking forward to of the season trends?
Adriana: I’m a mom and that never goes out of style. My number one trend is my kids…I’m blessed to have a boy (who’s already my height) and a little girl who is very fun to dress and I get to see them evolve. Now, my son likes to color coordinate his own outfits and the shoes, and he likes the high top and he has a very sporty style. While my daughter… she is very sassy, I enjoy taking them out shopping or out for a day outdoors… as long you are not sitting on the couch doing nothing (no couch- potatoes allowed)…
TV Personality, Carlos Adyan
MFS: How would you describe your fashion sense?
Carlos: I don’t’ know… usually, what you see on TV is suits and ties so this is very comfortable for me as it’s something different. I chose a pair of Bryan Samuel Footwear which I love because they are golden…it’s a different vibe and I wish I could wear them every single day on the news cast. The jacket is LVL XIII – by Jason Derulo exclusively for Bloomingdale’s and these pants are Hugo Boss.
MFS: As the host, what are you looking forward to from tonight’s show?
Carlos: I’m looking forward to seeing a lot of people like my age designing and creating different things which is going to be fun. Plus, it’s kind of like my vibe, even though I have a lot of television jobs and I go to FIU (Florida International University) and there’s cheerleaders from FIU who are here tonight… I’m happy that I have this opportunity thanks to Jonathan Torres and Bloomingdale’s for giving me this opportunity…
MFS: What do you think of Miami? How long have you lived here? How’s it treating you so far?
Carlos: It’s treating me amazing, I’ve been here for 2 years, almost 3 years and I’ve been accomplishing my dreams step by step. The weather is perfect like my island, Puerto Rico and it’s amazing– I love Miami!
