Celebrating Couture & Creativity: Inside the 18th Anniversary of Original Living Magazine at the Biltmore

This past Sunday, June 1, 2025, I had the honor of attending one of the most elegant and inspiring events during Miami Swim Week—The Original Couture Affair—in celebration of Original Living Magazine’s 18th Anniversary. I was graciously invited by Mary Montero, a renowned publicist and the powerhouse behind M&M Agency. From the moment I arrived at the historic Biltmore Hotel, I knew this would be a celebration to remember—where couture met culture with heart and soul.
A Glamorous Affair at the Biltmore
Hosted during Miami Swim Week, this luxurious High Tea celebration was much more than a runway—it was a tribute to craftsmanship, legacy, and visionary storytelling. The event welcomed VIP guests, celebrities, and fashion insiders with a red carpet entrance and a beautifully curated experience that blended fashion, art, and hospitality.
Agatha Ruiz de la Prada: A Runway Full of Joy, Color, and Creative Freedom
One of the most special moments for me was reuniting with the iconic Agatha Ruiz de la Prada at the Step & Repeat. We exchanged a warm hug and instantly recalled our unforgettable interview from 2014 at Miami Fashion Week. Agatha’s exuberant spirit, her signature use of bold color, and her vision of fashion as a form of joyful expression continue to inspire creatives around the world. Seeing her once again on the Miami stage was a powerful reminder of her enduring brilliance and vision.
Later, when her runway show began, the entire room lit up. True to her playful and avant-garde style, Agatha brought a wave of vibrant energy to the catwalk. Her collection embraced themes of love, optimism, and freedom, with hearts, clouds, raindrops, stars, and flowers dancing across swimsuits, dresses, and colorful co-ords in kaleidoscopic combinations.
What stood out most to me was how effortlessly Agatha transforms the runway into a living canvas. Every design felt like a declaration of joy—a visual anthem for those who dare to be bold, expressive, and completely themselves. Her pieces didn’t just follow trends; they defied them, inviting us to embrace individuality through fashion that radiates personality and purpose.
It was pure Agatha—authentic, artistic, and utterly unforgettable.
Max Alexander: The World’s Youngest Designer Delivers a Bold Vision
The evening also featured a truly historic moment—Max Alexander, the Guinness World Record holder as the youngest runway designer in the world, presented a collection that left the audience in awe. At just nine years old, Max’s creativity, confidence, and command of fashion are well beyond his years.
His latest collection featured both menswear and womenswear, each piece brimming with originality and structure. From architectural gowns and futuristic silhouettes to bold red statements and edgy accessories, Max proved once again that his work is not a novelty—it’s serious couture. One standout design included a mini dress with celestial detailing and a dramatic sculptural collar, while a crimson lattice gown with matching fascinator brought theatrical flair to the stage.
Max continues to captivate the fashion world not just with his talent, but with his fearlessness in breaking rules and redefining what’s possible at any age.
Caribbean Chic by Isabel López
The event also marked the debut of the “Pisces Resort” collection by Isabel López, CEO of Original Living Magazine. Inspired by the rich hues and textures of the Caribbean Sea, her line radiated effortless luxury and feminine strength, combining airy fabrics, hand-embellished seashells, coral-like appliqués, and striking seahorse motifs that instantly captivated the audience. From a show-stopping sculptural gown with a circular sea-blue fan and sparkling embroidery, to shimmering netted dresses adorned with pastel marine life, each piece embodied a vision of the ocean goddess reimagined for the modern, confident woman.
With every detail—from the choice of fabrics to the fluid silhouettes—Isabel proved her strength as both a creative force and a visionary leader in fashion publishing. Her designs celebrated the sensuality of the sea while embracing empowerment, elegance, and authenticity.
A special congratulations to Isabel López for her vision and initiative in bringing this level of high fashion and storytelling to Florida. Her leadership in curating such a meaningful event during Miami Swim Week was more than a fashion statement—it was a powerful inspiration for all women entrepreneurs striving to turn their dreams into reality.
A Touch of Glamour by Divaska
While the spotlight of the evening clearly belonged to Agatha Ruiz de la Prada and Isabel López, the runway also featured a graceful presentation by Divaska. Known for its refined aesthetic, the brand brought a soft contrast to the bolder collections of the night. Flowing gowns, crystal accents, and feminine silhouettes made for a lovely interlude of classic glamour.
The floral prints, delicate pleats, and subtle drama of the designs added a charming layer of variety to the evening’s fashion journey—quietly reminding us that elegance can be both powerful and understated.
Fashion Meets Fine Art and Honoring Legacy
Adding another layer of inspiration was WAM – Wearable Art Museum and Sculpture To Wear, curated by Lisa M. Berman. This artistic feature offered a captivating blend of fine art and high fashion, turning the runway into a gallery of movement, meaning, and form.
Under the visionary leadership of Gale Wechsler, President of The Original Couture Affair, the celebration included the reveal of Original Living Magazine’s 18th Anniversary cover—a tribute to nearly two decades of style and cultural impact. The event also supported Life Leading Light, a nonprofit organization devoted to wellness, social justice, and community transformation.
It was an unforgettable afternoon—where friendship, fashion, and purpose came together beautifully. Thank you again to Mary Montero for the invitation and to everyone who made this milestone celebration so meaningful. Here’s to the continued legacy of Original Living Magazine and to the creatives who make Miami’s fashion scene shine.

The Original Couture Affair, una celebración especial por el 18º Aniversario de Original Living Magazine. Fui cordialmente invitada por Mary Montero, reconocida publicista y mente maestra detrás de M&M Agency. Desde el momento en que llegué al histórico Hotel Biltmore, supe que sería una celebración inolvidable—donde la alta costura se encontró con la cultura en corazón y alma.
Un Evento Glamoroso en el Biltmore (Original Living Magazine 18th Anniversary)
Más que un desfile, esta lujosa celebración tipo ‘High Tea’ fue un tributo a la artesanía, el legado y la visión creativa. El evento recibió a celebridades, VIPs y líderes de la industria con una alfombra roja y una experiencia cuidadosamente curada que fusionó moda, arte y hospitalidad. La atmósfera fue elegante y alegre—una tarde de estilo con propósito.
Agatha Ruiz de la Prada: Una Pasarela de Alegría, Color y Libertad Creativa
Uno de los momentos más especiales para mí fue reencontrarme con la icónica Agatha Ruiz de la Prada en el Step & Repeat. Nos dimos un cálido abrazo y recordamos al instante nuestra inolvidable entrevista de 2013 en Miami Fashion Week. El espíritu vibrante de Agatha, su uso característico del color y su visión de la moda como una expresión alegre siguen inspirando a creativos en todo el mundo. Verla nuevamente sobre el escenario de Miami fue un poderoso recordatorio de su brillantez y visión duradera.
Más tarde, cuando comenzó su desfile, la sala entera se iluminó. Fiel a su estilo vanguardista, Agatha llevó una ola de energía vibrante a la pasarela. Su colección abrazó temas de amor, optimismo y libertad, con corazones, nubes, lágrimas ( o gotas de lluvia), estrellas y flores. El desfile mostró bañadores, vestidos y conjuntos coloridos en combinaciones caleidoscópicas.
Lo que más me impresionó fue cómo Agatha transforma la pasarela en un lienzo viviente. Cada diseño fue una declaración de alegría. Un himno visual para quienes se atreven a ser audaces, expresivos y completamente auténticos. Sus piezas no siguen las tendencias–las desafían. Lo que invita a abrazar nuestra individualidad a través de una moda que irradia personalidad y propósito. Fue pura Agatha: auténtica, artística e inolvidable.
Max Alexander: El Diseñador Más Joven del Mundo Presenta una Visión Audaz
La noche también nos regaló un momento histórico con Max Alexander, reconocido por Guinness World Records como el diseñador más joven del mundo. Max presentó una colección que dejó al público boquiabierto. Con solo nueve años, la creatividad, confianza y dominio de la moda de este chico van mucho más allá de su edad. Su colección incluyó tanto ropa masculina como femenina. Donde cada pieza desbordó originalidad y estructura. Desde vestidos arquitectónicos y siluetas futuristas hasta declaraciones audaces en rojo y accesorios vanguardistas.
Max demostró una vez más que su trabajo no es una novedad: es alta costura en serio. Uno de los diseños más impactantes fue un vestido corto con detalles celestiales y cuello escultórico. Mientras que un vestido rojo con estructura de celosía y tocado a juego aportó un dramatismo teatral. Max continúa cautivando al mundo de la moda no solo con su talento, sino con su valentía para romper reglas y redefinir lo posible a cualquier edad.
Estilo Caribeño por Isabel López
El evento también marcó el debut de la colección “Pisces Resort” de Isabel López, CEO de Original Living Magazine. Inspirada en los vibrantes tonos y texturas del mar Caribe, su línea irrumpió con una elegancia sin esfuerzo y una fuerza femenina que conquistó al público. Con telas vaporosas, conchas marinas bordadas a mano, apliques que evocaban los corales y llamativos motivos de caballitos de mar, cada diseño transmitía el espíritu de una diosa del océano, reinterpretada para la mujer moderna y segura de sí misma.
Desde un impresionante vestido estructurado en forma de abanico circular color azul mar hasta piezas en red brillantes adornadas con vida marina en tonos pastel. Cada creación fue una obra de arte con atención meticulosa a cada detalle. Donde Isabel reafirmó su talento como fuerza creativa y líder visionaria en el mundo editorial de la moda.
Felicitaciones especiales a Isabel López por su visión e iniciativa al elevar el nivel de la alta moda en Florida. Su liderazgo al organizar un evento tan significativo durante Miami Swim Week fue mucho más que una declaración de estilo. Fue una fuente poderosa de inspiración para todas las mujeres emprendedoras que luchan por hacer realidad sus sueños.
Un Toque de Glamour por Divaska
Aunque el centro de atención claramente lo ocuparon Agatha Ruiz de la Prada e Isabel López, la pasarela también presentó una elegante colección de Divaska. Conocida por su estética refinada, la marca ofreció un contraste suave a las colecciones más audaces de la noche. Vestidos fluidos, detalles de cristal y siluetas delicadas ofrecieron un encantador momento de glamour clásico.
