In collaboration with Alegria Party Design, led by Artistic Director Francis Rosales and Fashion Creative Samy Gicherman, a one-of-a-kind concept was born. The result? A breathtaking, marine-inspired masterpiece that transcends traditional Valentine’s Day décor. This exclusive design merges the serene elegance of the ocean with the couture craftsmanship of luxury event styling. More than just a table setting, it became an immersive experience that captured the essence of fashion, beauty, and romance.
The Vision: A Valentine’s Dream Beyond Tradition
Lissette Rondon wanted something extraordinary—a setting that felt fashion-forward, elegant, and unique. She asked for a bespoke tablescape, steering away from the expected red roses and pink hearts. “Something different, unique, and out of this world.” With this challenge in mind, Francis Rosales and Samy Gicherman designed a Valentine’s Day concept that broke the rules of romance. Their inspiration came from the tranquil beauty of the sea, bringing together elements that felt ethereal, luxurious, and unexpected.
Designing the Marine-Inspired Romance
The final setup? A breathtaking masterpiece where the tranquility of the ocean met high fashion aesthetics. The tablescape unfolded like a visual symphony. Soft oceanic blues, delicate blush pinks, and shimmering golds blended seamlessly, capturing the ethereal beauty of a sunrise over crystal-clear waters. Every hue was intentionally layered, creating a dreamscape where fashion and nature coexisted in perfect harmony.
The floral arrangements were nothing short of couture. A carefully curated selection of delphinium, peonies, hydrangeas, roses, sweet pea, and thistle mimicked the fluid movement of ocean waves. To enhance the understated opulence, the table featured:
– Pearls and gold accents, adding a timeless, elegant touch.
– Intricate marine elements, such as starfish, coral textures, and ocean-inspired napkin rings featuring seahorses and crabs.

“When Lissette came to us, she had a clear request—something that defied tradition,” shares Rosales. “She didn’t want the usual Valentine’s Day setup. That gave us the creative freedom to design a setting that felt modern, and couture-inspired.”
MFS: This Valentine’s Day décor was a bespoke creation for Lissette Rondon. How did you ensure the design reflected her signature style and appreciation for high fashion?
Francis: “For us, designing a Valentine’s Day table for Lissette was about translating her love for uniqueness into a luxurious reality. We focused on details that captured her sophisticated and fashion-forward aesthetic, ensuring the final ambiance was both elegant and deeply personal. Every design decision was made with her distinctive taste in mind, from the soft, oceanic blues to the bold, sculptural floral arrangements.”
Lissette (smiling): “I told Francis, ‘no pressure, surprise me, but no red roses, no pink hearts—let’s break the rules of Valentine’s Day décor!’”
Francis (laughs): “No pressure, right? But that’s what I love about working with you—you always inspire us to push boundaries and create something spectacular.”
MFS: Your designs are known for being bold, extravagant, and fashion-forward. What was your creative vision for this tablescape?
Francis: “For this haute couture-inspired Valentine’s décor, we looked to Sanibel and Captiva Islands, a romantic retreat beloved by Lissette and her husband Frank. Just like a couture collection tells a story, this setting was designed to feel timeless, elegant, and deeply personal. Every detail—from the sculptural florals to the oceanic textures—was meticulously curated to exude romantic sophistication while remaining fashion-forward. The combination of florals, pearls, custom tableware, and ethereal candlelight made the final setting feel otherworldly yet deeply intimate.”
MFS: Luxury event styling, is about personalization, exclusivity, and setting trends. How does APD bring that philosophy to private settings like this one?
Francis: “At Alegria Party Design, we approach high-end event styling the way a couture house approaches fashion—every element is meticulously curated, ensuring it feels like a work of art. For this project, we combined luxury event styling with fashion aesthetics, creating a tailored, trendsetting experience that was uniquely Lissette’s.”

“Just as in haute couture, luxury event styling is about layering textures, coordinating colors, and creating harmony between elements,” says Samy Gicherman. “This design wasn’t just about beauty; it was about evoking emotion, making the table feel alive, fluid, and captivating.”
MFS: You are known for your eye for luxury and impeccable attention to detail in fashion. How do you bring that same couture sensibility into Alegria Party Design’s décor projects?
Samy: “For me, event styling is an extension of fashion—it’s about understanding how elements like textures, movement, and intricate details come together to create a statement of elegance. Just like in fashion design, everything must be perfectly balanced, refined, and intentional. This was a tablescape designed to inspire—much like a haute couture runway piece.”
MFS: Luxury is always in the details—whether in fashion or event décor. What are the standout elements in this table setting that truly make it a statement of elegance?
Samy: “This Valentine’s Day décor is filled with statement details—intricate floral arrangements, luxurious marine textures, soft candlelight, and custom-curated tableware. The combination of delicate blooms, pearl accents, and elegant blue glassware gave the setting an unparalleled sense of refinement and exclusivity.”
Francis (jumps in with a grin): “And of course, we couldn’t have done this without our top-secret creative meetings, which always start with a gossip session about the fashion world.”
Lissette (laughs): “Oh please, that’s half the fun! We can’t just work—we need to discuss what’s happening in Paris, Milan, and New York. The drama, the trends, the scandals!”
Samy (adds, playfully): “And let’s be real—half of the best design ideas come after a little celebrity fashion gossip.”

La Visión: Un Sueño de San Valentín Más Allá de lo Convencional
Lissette Rondon deseaba algo extraordinario—una ambientación que se sintiera moderna, elegante y única. Buscaba una mesa hecha a medida, alejándose por completo de los clásicos corazones rosas y las rosas rojas. “Algo diferente, único y fuera de este mundo.” Con este reto en mente, Francis Rosales y Samy Gicherman diseñaron un concepto para San Valentín que rompió las reglas del romance. Una selección meticulosamente curada de delphinium, peonías, hortensias, rosas, sweet pea y cardo azul imitaba el movimiento fluido de las olas del mar. Francis Rosales: “Para nosotros, diseñar una mesa de San Valentín para Lissette significaba transformar su amor por lo único en una realidad lujosa. Nos enfocamos en detalles que capturaran su estética sofisticada y vanguardista, asegurándonos de que la atmósfera final fuera elegante y profundamente personal. Nos inspiramos en Sanibel y Captiva Island ( dos islas muy románticas, adoradas por Lissette y su esposo, Frank). Además, cada decisión de diseño se tomó pensando en los gustos exclusivos que ella tenia en mente. Desde la paleta de colores que incluyeron tonos azules oceánicos hasta los impactantes arreglos florales escultóricos.”
Lissette (interviene con una risa): “Le dije a Francis: ‘Sorpréndeme, sin presiones, pero no quiero rosas rojas, ni corazoncitos rosados—rompamos las reglas de la decoración de San Valentín.’”
Francis (riendose): “¡Sin presión, como no! Pero eso es lo que más me gusta de trabajar contigo—siempre nos enpujas a superar límites y a crear algo espectacular.”
Samy Gicherman: Infundiendo Sensibilidad de Moda en Cada Detalle
“Al igual que en la alta costura, el diseño de eventos de lujo trata de superponer texturas, coordinar colores y crear armonía entre elementos,” dice Samy Gicherman. “Este diseño no solo fue belleza. Se trataba de provocar emoción. De hacer que la mesa se sintiera viva, fluida y cautivadora.”
