]]>FENDI introduced a new chapter in its storied history with the presentation of Maria Grazia Chiuri’s debut FENDI Couture Fall/Winter 2026-2027 Fashion Show, held at the prestigious Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Rome. The highly anticipated collection marks Chiuri’s first couture presentation for the Italian luxury house and reflects a thoughtful exploration of the relationship between fashion, the human body, and artistic expression.
Rather than focusing solely on garments, Chiuri presents couture as a dialogue between design and the individual. The collection embraces clothing as a means of honoring the body—not simply as a silhouette, but as a living expression of emotion, identity, intention, and movement. Through refined craftsmanship and conceptual design, each look seeks to restore value to the wearer, highlighting couture as both art and personal narrative.

The choice of venue carries deep historical significance for the Maison.
In October 1985, the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea hosted the landmark exhibition “Steps Through Work. FENDI / Karl Lagerfeld 1985,” commemorating the first twenty years of collaboration between FENDI and the legendary Karl Lagerfeld.
Curated by Ida Panicelli, with an exhibition design conceived by Karl Lagerfeld and realized by Claudio Lazzarini and Carmela Vigliotti, the exhibition became one of the first dedicated to a fashion house ever presented inside an Italian museum. It represented a groundbreaking moment, elevating fashion into the cultural and artistic dialogue of contemporary museum spaces.

For 2026, Maria Grazia Chiuri has chosen to revisit this historic exhibition, recreating it in its entirety while preserving its original museographic vision.
Although recognized for its cultural importance, the 1985 exhibition has never been fully studied or experienced by contemporary audiences. By faithfully reconstructing the original installation and making its internal components accessible once again, Chiuri creates a bridge between FENDI’s heritage and today’s visitors.
The project transforms the exhibition into a living experience, inviting the public to engage with the Maison’s creative history through physical presence and renewed dialogue. Rather than serving as a nostalgic tribute, the recreation encourages fresh interpretations and unexpected connections between fashion, art, and contemporary culture.

With her debut FENDI Couture Fall/Winter 2026-2027 collection, Maria Grazia Chiuri demonstrates a vision that extends beyond traditional couture.
The collection positions fashion as an emotional language—one that celebrates individuality, craftsmanship, and the complexity of human experience. Presented within one of Rome’s most important cultural institutions and framed by the legacy of FENDI and Karl Lagerfeld, the debut establishes a meaningful conversation between past and present while opening a new creative chapter for the Roman luxury house.
As FENDI continues to evolve, this couture presentation reaffirms the Maison’s enduring commitment to innovation, artistic collaboration, and the timeless excellence of Italian craftsmanship.

]]>The post FENDI Womenswear Spring/Summer 2025: A Tribute to the 1920s appeared first on Miami Fashion Spotlight.
]]>The FENDI Womenswear Spring/Summer 2025 collection takes inspiration from the 1920s, a pivotal decade that saw the founding of the iconic fashion house. Kim Jones, the Artistic Director at FENDI, has masterfully combined history and modernity in this new collection, paying homage to the modernist ethos of the era. From the Art Deco movement in Paris to literary milestones by Virginia Woolf and F. Scott Fitzgerald, the cultural significance of the 1920s is woven into the fabric of this collection, both metaphorically and literally.

One of the standout elements of the Spring/Summer 2025 collection is the seamless fusion of couture elements with everyday practicality. The collection’s structured yet relaxed silhouettes make it effortlessly chic, while the intricate details bring couture craftsmanship to the forefront. Embroidery, a classic hallmark of FENDI, appears on more casual forms, such as tees and silk slips, elevating everyday wardrobe staples. Luxurious materials like soft suedes and shearlings create robe-like shapes, while the silk tea dresses maintain an air of elegance, grounded by boots developed in collaboration with Red Wing. This collaboration brings a unique blend of FENDI’s craftsmanship and rugged functionality to the collection, ensuring practicality doesn’t take a back seat to style.

The accessories in this collection stand as a testament to FENDI’s enduring commitment to luxury and craftsmanship. Unstructured designs are featured prominently, creating a sensual yet iconic aesthetic that resonates with FENDI’s timeless appeal. The Mamma Baguette, larger and more striking this season, is a standout, paying homage to the brand’s founder, Adele Fendi. Delfina Delettrez Fendi, the creative mind behind FENDI Filo jewelry, continues the legacy with pieces that link the house’s rich history with its forward-thinking design ethos. Each accessory serves as a bridge between the past and present, showcasing the brand’s devotion to quality and innovation.

As Silvia Venturini Fendi turns her attention to accessories and menswear, her focus on quality remains at the heart of the brand’s success. FENDI’s century-long heritage is not just about design but also about an unwavering commitment to craftsmanship. This Spring/Summer 2025 collection celebrates FENDI’s unique ability to create pieces that are both stylish and enduring.

]]>In this collection, the concept of uniforms for work and play is deconstructed and reinvented, embracing powdery shades. A mineral palette of sherbet, mist, ivory, caramel, buttermilk, soft blues, natural indigo, black, and forest green blend harmoniously. Elements of sportswear and ceremonial attire come together, giving rise to the FENDI Club concept, proudly displayed like a fantasy coat-of-arms on breast pockets and buttons. From head to toe, the collection showcases the mastery of the Selleria stitch—a technique passed down to the Fendi family by Roman master saddlers in 1925. This stitch is skillfully scaled and reinterpreted as a broken pinstripe suiting jacquard, woven as a stripe or tonal FF logo through linen and plush textures, applied as a surface on Japanese boro denim, or reduced to a minimalist frame on crisp wool outerwear and leather goods. These subtle volumes evoke whispers of the past, with ample cloth bomber jackets, fluid trench coats, and 3-button blazers paired with loose-cut slashed trousers.

The collection pushes the boundaries of traditional garments with contoured details that add a twist of modernity. Poplin shirt sleeves are slashed at the elbow, allowing them to be worn long or short. Polo plackets twist from throat to rib, while asymmetric silk knits unbutton down the shoulder, creating an airy modularity. Pleated shorts find companionship with long patch-pocket overshirts, adorned with silk ties and layered beneath short summer jackets in tonal combinations of linen, leather, Madras check cotton, and ultralight suede.
The Men’s Spring/Summer 2025 Accessories collection seamlessly complements the season’s Selleria obsession. From the Peekaboo ISeeU Soft bag and supple diagonal shoppers to the new zippered Baguette Double crossbody bag and a patchwork Baguette crafted from multi-colored offcuts from the FENDI ateliers, each accessory showcases meticulous craftsmanship. Whipstitch details grace the season’s contrast paneled FENDI Force sneakers, alongside molded lug-sole loafers and patent leather or wax thread-embroidered slip-on flats.

The highly anticipated FENDI Men’s Spring/Summer 2025 fashion show takes place within the 7000sqm Open Studio at Super Studio Maxi in Milan, Europe’s first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold®-certified event space. Designed by Nico Vascellari, the minimalist set features six mirror columns, mobile monoliths that track the models’ path throughout the show, creating infinite corridors and reflections. Accompanying the collection is a custom electronic soundtrack by Vascellari in collaboration with Rocco Rampino, perfectly attuned to the oscillating, romantic beat of the garments and the show’s airy, daylight setting.
FENDI’s Men’s Spring/Summer 2025 Collection effortlessly captures the essence of the brand’s rich heritage while propelling it into the future. With a nod to the past and a vision of contemporary masculinity, this collection showcases the exceptional craftsmanship and timeless elegance that define FENDI. As the brand’s centenary approaches, FENDI continues to reign as a true beacon of Italian luxury and style.
The heraldic crest of the FENDI Men’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection features a shield divided into four parts, incorporating elements such as the Pequin stripe and FF logo, Janus (the Roman god of beginnings and endings), and the FENDI squirrel—a symbol inspired by a painting gifted to Adele Casagrande Fendi by her husband Edoardo Fendi, who affectionately likened himself to a busy squirrel. Interestingly, this crest captures the essence of FENDI’s rich heritage and imaginative storytelling.

“I was looking at 1984 in the FENDI archives. The sketches reminded me of London during that period,” Jones muses, drawing parallels to the Blitz Kids and the New Romantics, where British subcultures mingled with global influences, birthing a style that exuded both defiance and sophistication. It’s a sentiment encapsulated in FENDI’s DNA, where utility meets extravagance, and simplicity dances with theatricality.

At the heart of this collection lies a celebration of contrasts, where utilitarian elements are elevated to statements of intent. The rigid lines of tailoring give way to a softer silhouette, blending graphic precision with sumptuous comfort. Knitwear, a quintessential British staple, undergoes a transformation, seamlessly intertwining tradition with modernity.
Throughout the collection, FENDI’s past reverberates in recurring motifs, paying homage to its rich heritage. The Selleria, a symbol of craftsmanship and tradition, takes center stage, weaving its way into garments and leather goods alike. From leather riding boots to statement bangles adorned with metal thread hardware, each piece narrates a story of timeless elegance and artisanal prowess.
Silvia Venturini Fendi, the Artistic Director of Accessories and Menswear, breathes new life into iconic designs, deconstructing and reimagining past styles. The Peekaboo, Baguette, and By The Way bags undergo a metamorphosis, embracing tactility and utility in rich, natural hues. Yet amidst this transformation, there’s a recognition that there’s not just one FENDI woman, but a multitude, each finding herself in the garments she chooses to wear.
In essence, FENDI’s latest collection is more than just a showcase of sartorial mastery; it’s a testament to the intertwining of cultures, histories, and identities. It’s a celebration of individuality, where London’s nonchalance meets Rome’s freedom, and where each stitch tells a story of defiance and elegance.

]]>Craftsmanship takes center stage as Fendi’s artisans showcase their supreme skills. From embroiderers to tailors, pattern cutters to leather workers, each detail is meticulously crafted. The collection embraces a ‘human futurism,’ merging past constants with present and future elements, where structure becomes decoration and vice versa.
The collection features innovative silhouettes and materials, from the ‘Scatola’ silhouette to supple crocodile leather. Precision geometric pattern cutting creates new volumes in fabrics like silk gazar, while knitted dresses elegantly embrace the wearer with Shibari harnesses. Crocodile leather travels through clothing and accessories, optimizing lightness and movement inspired by dance.
Fendi extends the notion of precious practicality to accessories, including bespoke Baguette bags and FEND Gems Baguette bags. Crafted from sumptuous materials like supple crocodile and adorned with platinum leaf and white diamonds, these bags are personal, luxurious objects. Fine eyewear, designed by Delfina Delettrez Fendi, offers tailored structures in 18k white gold and white diamonds, enhancing both vision and adornment.
Kim Jones collaborates with renowned composer Max Richter to create a score that echoes the collection’s theme of precision and emotion. The music enhances the sensory experience, adding depth and emotion to the runway presentation.

]]>Designed by Artistic Director of Accessories and Menswear Silvia Venturini Fendi, the Fendi Men’s Fall/Winter 2024-25 collection muses on the noble pursuits of the great outdoors, streamlined by the swagger of the city. With tradition and technology in constant dialogue, a masculine wardrobe born from necessity is nuanced with Roman decadence: from the Fendi ateliers, to the world.
Pondering the changing landscape of sartoria, the hybridity of the silhouette and its multiple meanings remains a constant question in menswear, answered by Fendi in ways that transcend and surprise. Uniting a deep knowledge of culture with the prowess of techniques new and old, subtle expressions of Europeana abound, from the soft rub of Casentino blanket wools to the waxy polish of all-weather cloths and the smooth hand of loden. Amongst the hibernal palette of peat and granite, burnt umber, coal and forest green, bright swathes of cornflower and denim blues, cherry, grass green, canary yellow and cloud gray all flourish in contrast or tone-on-tone.
Expounding upon the duality of the urban and the bucolic, the spirit of the Scottish kilt is imbued across the collection in long pleated shorts worn with leather Wellingtons and hiking socks, flat-front checked skorts or classic trousers tweaked with controlled pleats down each leg. Generous outerwear shapes with raglan shoulders and flat leather tab buttons are adorned with Selleria leather collars and contrast accents in suede ‘corduroy’, with fisherman’s coats and waterproof wax jackets in FF canvas side-by-side with opulent bombers and peacoat shapes engineered with shaved trompe I’oeiI shearling piping and seams. Color-blocked knitwear underpins tailoring with playful accents, from the luster of heat-pressed cable knits to ribbed wrap cardigans and triple-layered hems or cuffs on polo sweaters and tanks. Expanding the season’s dense material vocabulary, washed denim and mohair textures are looped, shredded and knit to look like fringed ‘furs’, plissé polished leather is crafted into an exceptional trench coat and bomber jacket, whilst glossy satin and lurex shimmers across evening ensembles caught by flourished crystal FF evening brooches by Artistic Director of Jewellery, Delfina Delettrez Fendi.
Relishing in a sense of homely sophistication and a tribute to the Selleria and leather workmanship, the Fendi Men’s Fall/Winter 2024-25 accessories collection is all curves and contours, from the new SieSta bag that flattens like a pillow in striped quilting or shearling, to the folding modularity of the iVlelon hobo and backpack styles adorned with chrome FF! hardware. Two-tone and textured leather wash bags are carried as irreverent day bags, whilst the smooth, cushioned form of the Peekaboo lSeeU Soft returns alongside the beveled lines of the padded Baguette Soft Trunk. On foot, lace-up deck shoes are elevated on a platform injected sole, whilst grain leather Wellington boots are traced with Selleria stitching up the ankle.
Adding to the House initiative of progressive partnerships that align the worlds of fashion and architecture, two designs created in conversation with the Beijing, Los Angeles and Rome-based architecture studio Ma Yansong/MAD Architects are unveiled on the Fendi Men’s Fall/Winter 2024-25 runway, furthering the season’s call-and-repeat between man and nature with a futuristic edge. Under the creative direction of Silvia Venturini Fendi and MAD founding partner Ma Yansong, the Peekaboo ISeeU is deconstructed with varnished aluminum contours on the facade and handle, in a nod to MAD’s organic and flowing architectural style. A slip-on futuristic sneaker features an organic, injection-molded sole and upper with two- tone bubble details and metallic accents – its low, flat profile creating an ergonomic alternative to the season’s twisted classics.
Furthering Fendi’s pursuit in the fields of music and technology, the Men’s Fall/Winter 2024-25 runway also unveils the FENDI x DEVIALET Mania portable handheld speaker, worn with looks 6, 20,32,34 and 43. Crafted by Devialet’s French team of haute technologie engineers, and wrapped in a technical FF case in brown and tobacco with gold or gray and black with silver, this state-of-the-art 360° stereo speaker offers outstanding audio purity through a unique architecture and proprietary acoustic mapping technology that adapts its stereo soundstage to its environment to deliver perfect treble and bass on the go.
Conceived by the Italian artist Nico Vascellari, the Fendi Men’s Fall/Winter 2024-25 runway show takes place with a live audience seated on brushed steel benches in a path of elongated FF monograms creating a geometric path through the Fendi headquarters in Milan, Italy. Continuing the Fendi tradition of bespoke show soundtracks created for the House through collaborations with the Italian electronic music scene, the show is accompanied by a new original composition by Vascellari and DJ and producer Rocco Rampino.

]]>“In Rome, there is an elegance in ease and not caring what anybody else thinks – that is real luxury. In this collection, I wanted to reflect that. It is about women who dress for themselves and their own lives, I see it with Silvia and Delfina all of the time. It’s not about the spectacle of being looked at but the reality of wearing and the confidence and chicness that comes with it. It’s not about being something but being someone.”
A walk-through Rome, where the ordinary is amplified and becomes extraordinary; histories are intertwined with the past becoming present and where insouciant personal style reflects the inner world of the wearer.
In the latest collection, Kim Jones explores an ease of dressing with a certain Roman freedom, where imperfection becomes a more human perfection and where luxury is found in the comfort and quiet confidence clothing and accessories give the wearer to be themselves. A sense of duality – a very FENDI quality – permeates the collection. Simultaneously pragmatic and playful, masculine tailoring and materials, such as the finest kid mohair, are applied to a more fluid and feminine sensibility when combined with silks and knits. The traditional curtain waistband of tailored trousers is folded over to reveal its construction and often united with sinuous knitwear; the washed silk of an evening dress slips into the day-to-day; organza-backed strips of soft shearling – a utilisation of FENDI’s famed Featherlike construction – are made into towelling-like summer skirt suits with work shirts; an over-sized masculine car coat finds a feminine echo in metal anklet ballet car shoes, with a practical studded bottom employed for ease and grip. In short, masculine utility and comfort come together with a feminine flourish, with the agency of the wearer in mind.

Simultaneously, FENDI’s past is made present in recurring codes and motifs that stretch back to the beginnings of the House. The linking thread of the Selleria stitch ties all categories of the present collection together and back to the past of its fashion and leather goods. From its initial inspiration and creation by Roman master saddlers, the Selleria finds form in leather bags and garments to eventually metamorphosing into metal thread hardware on shoes and is reiterated in jewellery by Delfina Delettrez Fendi, FENDI Artistic Director of Jewellery. A playful and abstract exploration of the FF logo is once more found in the jewellery and in the clothing collection, where it reaches its bold apotheosis in completely abstract FENDI colour-blocking in intarsia leathers and structured, strapless knit dresses. The off-kilter palette – itself a signature – is largely taken from Karl Lagerfeld’s Women’s Spring/Summer 1999 collection for the House where key dresses were also found and reworked such as the acid yellow coated linen slip and the trompe l’oeil silks made for today with silicone Framis prints.

In Silvia Venturini Fendi’s bags, Artistic Director of Accessories and Menswear, a plethora of styles, sizes, materials and techniques reflect the character of the different wearers. Eschewing the idea of one diktat, the collection takes in the sweep of FENDI pop iconography through FENDI Peekaboo and Baguette, Origami and First bags, while introducing the new Flip, a shopper that folds into a clutch, with a playful, colour-blocked construction. Here there is a reiteration that there is not just one FENDI woman, but many FENDI women with an encouragement for them to be themselves and embrace the idea of Roman freedom.
The music for the show is This Bitter Earth / On the Nature of Daylight, a composite work featuring Dinah Washington’s “This Bitter Earth” and Max Richter’s piece “On the Nature of Daylight”.

]]>There is an idea of simplicity with hidden intricacies in the collection; much is about volume, drape and sculptural shape achieved through complex and rigorous pattern cutting, with garments often realised with only a single seam. This is a bravura achievement whispered instead of shouted in second-skin silks, alongside single-piece intricate knits and draped, neoprene tailored furs and FENDI chevron feathered shearlings, where ultimately, it is not only about the spectacle of looking but the reality of wearing.

Precision and emotion, the real and the refined are also found in Delfina Delettrez Fendi’s approach to high jewellery that exists symbiotically with the collection. In this debut proposition of one-off pieces, the idea of the couture ensemble is extended to that of jewellery. At once timeless and saying something of today, in a FENDI colour palette of exceptional white and yellow diamonds together with green, orange and pink Padparadscha sapphires and spinels. The collection of pink spinels alone, that feature in the ‘Undarum’ set, took forty years to gather together and will probably never be replicated in nature again.
The discreetly multifaceted nature of this couture collection reaches a crescendo in embroidery techniques that unite the clothing and jewellery worlds. While clutching their jewel box minaudière, the mood builds with models scattered with jewel-like embellishments or layered with a stratification of intricate stacked tonal paillettes and stones at the closing of the show. To achieve the glittering rose glow of the final look, it took 1200 hours of handwork.

The soundtrack to the show is Klaus Nomi’s ‘The Cold Song.’ Based on Henry Purcell’s English Baroque original from the seventeenth century, it too reflects the emotion and precision of the collection and of the couture itself, where the past becomes the basis for a New Wave present and future.

]]>“We are proud to open FENDI Factory to our clients and press, making it live outside the day by day for the upcoming Men’s fashion show in June during Pitti Uomo. It is a special place for our artisans and local community as it represents FENDI heritage and creativity, nurturing precious handmade abilities of its artisans and preserving Made in Italy” says Serge Brunschwig, Chairman and CEO, FENDI.
“I am thrilled that the next Men’s Show will take place in such a special location to me, the pulsing heart of FENDI, a place symbolic of creation, where development, innovation, craftsmanship training and production are reunited under the same roof. It will be such a unique occasion to see our products take life exactly where our Artisans make them, letting them take centre stage on that day” continues Silvia Venturini Fendi, Artistic Director of Accessories and Menswear, FENDI.
“I am particularly delighted with the presence of FENDI, one of the most prestigious luxury brands on the global scene, at Pitti Uomo in June”; says Antonio De Matteis, President of Pitti Immagine, – precisely in the edition that marks my debut at the helm of the company. This presentation further confirms the international standing of the fair and the quality of its special events. I would also like to underline the importance of the renewed union of intentions with Camera Nazionale della Moda, with which we share the objective of promoting and valorising the highest Italian fashion in contexts of global relevance: each organisation with its own peculiarities and references, both aware that the complementary sequence of Florence-Milan appointments is essential for the entire national men’s fashion system. I therefore take this opportunity to express our gratitude to Silvia Venturini Fendi and Carlo Capasa”.
Men’s Fashion Week in Italy is one, it starts in Florence with Pitti and continues in Milan with our Fashion Week, with two different and complementary modalities. The synergy between our two realities makes the Italian men’s fashion proposal the most important in the world. Thanks to the FENDI fashion show that will close the Pitti events on Thursday evening and kick off the Milan fashion shows, the interconnection that binds Florence and Milan is even more evident, even on an international level. The choice of Maison FENDI to present its men’s collection at its Factory in Florence is an important message of enhancing the fashion industry and local territory. It is amazing that a great brand, a member of CNMI, by opening the doors of its own pole highlights the work of craftsmanship that makes Italian fashion unique in the world,” states Carlo Capasa, Chairman of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana “With Silvia Venturini Fendi we share a special bond,” adds Raffaello Napoleone, CEO of Pitti Immagine, “built over the years through various collaborations, always in support of new talents. And above all, we are fans of her vision of men’s clothing and lifestyle, of her ability to blend classic elements and radical innovation in a harmonious and modern way. The FENDI event is a precious and emblematic occasion for the city and its productive poles as well. In fact, the Factory is a large structure dedicated above all to leather goods, representing one of the best expressions of the manufacturing, industrial and artisanal tradition of our territory and region. FENDI’s investment harnesses the skills and knowledge rooted here and at the same time nurtures them, contributes to their modernisation, and combines them with high quality design in fashion and accessories”.
FENDI’s special presence in the calendar of the next Pitti Uomo has been agreed with Pitti Immagine and the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana. FENDI will return to show during the Milan Fashion Week starting from January 2024 with its Men’s Fall/Winter 2024-25 Collection.

]]>“It all started with Delfina. There’s a chicness but a perversity to the way she twists Fendi, which is what I love.”
– Kim Jones.
Masculine tailoring and traditional fabrics are twisted into feminine forms, while elements of utilitarianism appear throughout: boiler-suits, aprons, and uniforms. Lace is lacquered and layered; flashes of fetishism appear through slips of lingerie peeking through, or thigh-high lace-up boots.
A clean-cut mac falls open to flash its sequined lining; bias-cut draped dresses or Persian lamb bibs appear with harnessed straps.

In a perfected perspective on punk, knitwear appears cleanly slashed or gently warped. Felted wools are slightly shrunken, ribbed knits left unbuttoned, or worn askew. Satin dresses with a twisted drape are romantically trailed by billowing scarves. “It’s deconstructed, but luxurious. There’s a little nod to punk, and my admiration for DIY, but moved on towards something chic,” explains Kim Jones. “The first day that Delfina walked into work, she was wearing blue and brown, and I thought she looked so great. There’s a chicness but a perversity to the way she twists FENDI, which is what I love.”
With graphic motifs drawn from the Autumn/Winter 1996 Fendi archive seamlessly expressed in intarsia, alongside Karl Lagerfeld’s 1981 sketches for multipurpose knitwear offering a formative inspiration, the history of the House is reflected anew.

With the introduction of a new handbag, the Fendi Multi, Silvia Venturini Fendi pays homage to that multipurpose sensibility so innate to the House, through a shape which has been engineered to transform between two distinct silhouettes. “I think what is really nice is the movement of the bag, that it can be two things in one,” she reflects. “That duality is very Fendi – as is the idea of something which appears simple but, in reality, is very complex.” Other styles, like the newly conceived Fendi C’mon, draw on that same supposed simplicity: “The idea was to create pieces that were very pure in order to match the sophistication of the collection,” she says.
It is the exact same spirit which is echoed in the jewellery, designed by Delfina Delettrez Fendi. “I wanted to explore the purity of the double F, locking on the ear,” she explains. “Like the collection, it goes to the very essence of Fendi.”

]]>“This season, I wanted to concentrate on the techniques and craft of couture, with the lightness, fluidity and attitude of today,” says Kim Jones, FENDI Artistic Director of Couture and Womenswear. “It’s a celebration of the ateliers and the craftspeople who realise these garments, the intense work and emotional commitment to each piece that exists for both maker and wearer, and how the intimate traditions of the couture are both living and breathing. The collection is an inner world made into an external one – both figuratively and literally – with a sense of underwear becoming eveningwear.”
Couture traditions are made both human and approachable, light with a sense of luminosity, lucidity and ease for the wearer. Eschewing ‘costume’ and embracing a softer, more yielding feeling of agency for the woman in the clothing, a mutability is sought and expressed. The flou is concentrated on and in the form of the dress, yet an idea of the ensemble is also revived in a new sense, with a notion of purposeful flux and flexibility replacing impenetrability. Winged sleeves are often detachable; lingerie is designed as part of a look, often in the same intensely embroidered and unexpected fabrications, even when invisible; coats mirror the intense embroidery of their matching dresses on the inside yet can be reversed; ‘apron’ wrap skirts can also be worn as stoles.

An artful ‘sprezzatura’ of done and undone permeates all: a nonchalance and purposeful imperfection to achieve more human perfection. This is clothing that is not just about being looked at but about being lived in.
Draping and tying on the body, the exploration of lace and its placement, the hand-pleating motifs, together with an elevation of exceptional knit, give a sense of the sculptural and organic while at the same time displaying virtuoso ‘sprezzatura’. Even utilitarian climbing carabiners are remade as luxury sculptural objects, to tether materials nonchalantly.

An idea of done and undone, a machine world versus an organic one, making hard soft and vice versa comes together with the supreme skills of the FENDI ateliers in the motif of the metallic leather-lace. At times appearing like chainmail – particularly in the recurring gloves – exceptionally soft and malleable leather is handcrafted with both lace-like cut-outs and inset with lace intarsias for a passage of dresses with their matching ensemble underwear. In a similar vein, yarn in the form of the extraordinarily delicate Japanese mohair, Fuuga – the finest gauge to be found in the world – is worked on a frame and becomes the apotheosis of crochet in gossamer lightness more akin to lace in cascading gowns.

]]>With a subverted classicism inherent to the FENDI name, expressions of shimmer and shine are embedded in a landscape of sartorial experimentation. Trompe l’oeil clothes that trick the eye are the result of dynamic workmanship — house codes twisted to create new gestures of plush texture and patina. By exploring the decadence of the city and the lights that sparkle after dark, lines are blurred between tough and traditional menswear silhouettes with a new soignée allure. Asymmetry and volume infuse the sartorial wardrobe with geometry and movement, revealing layers of craftsmanship and flashes of skin. Celebrating the hallmarks of FENDI materiality, double-faced (and reversible) cashmere, engineered leathers and jacquard silks are illuminated by the disco ball hues of silver, indigo and violet. They lift a sober palette that undulates between shades of dove grey, oatmeal, burnt umber, mocha, mauve, lavender, deep navy and black.

Unfolding in parallel gestures throughout, cocooning outerwear plays against the sensuality of languid knits and deconstructed shirting to question the boundaries of utility and artifice. Closed with O’Lock zippers, blanket coats and ponchos swaddle ribbed cashmere track separates; sweater vests fall off the shoulder; fluid trousers are cut with a draped skirt. Double-breasted overcoats featuring satin lapels, fringed hems or a scattering of metallic appliqué en tremblant offer purity and rigour amidst layered silhouettes. Mélange textures abound from camel hair jersey to Shetland wool flannel, sprayed shearling and FF fleece, as shadow effects create antique finishes in waxed and burnished leather or overdyed denim. Disappearing into geometric abstraction, the FENDI astuccio motif is reimagined as FENDI Shadow, a larger-than-life logo woven into mohair scarves, blankets, fringed linings and ‘pinstripe’ tailoring. The effect is of a subtle extravagance: the FENDI man in his element on the streets, at home, or on the dancefloor.
The FENDI Men’s Fall/Winter 2023-24 accessories collection is infused with a playful glamour, exploring the season’s hybrid formality with a heightened precision. The Peekaboo evolves with bold metallic strap hardware, sprayed shearling or harness detailing, and the Baguette is revisited in burnished leather with all-over utility pockets. In a soft folding gesture, a new hobo satchel is finished in FENDI Shadow suede or grained leather, and woven FF cashmere bucket bags hold fringed blankets. On the new Chiodo backpack, ergonomic straps pivot on a metallic hinge, creating a futuristic design statement when paired with the FENDI Shadow black leather.
On foot, a slotted F logo heel features on chiseled Cuban heel boots, FENDI Frame moccasins and lace-up derbies, as the FENDI Flow sneakers return with scuba, mesh and transparent detailing.

Designed by Delfina Delettrez Fendi, FENDI Artistic Director of Jewelry, the season’s jewelry interprets the FENDI Shadow, in engraved cuffs, chains and squared pendants. Interlocked F motifs create pendant earrings and graphic chain necklaces, whilst the O’Lock device adorns a new round wristwatch with a double dial.
The FENDI Men’s Fall/Winter 2023-34 fashion show sees the House headquarter in Milan transformed into a giant roller disco pinball machine, with a custom disco soundtrack entitled “After Dark”, specifically created by the legendary Italian composer and producer Giorgio Moroder. This unique soundtrack includes new compositions and culminates in a new version of the iconic disco hit “I Feel Love” (1977, music by Giorgio Moroder, lyrics by Donna Summer and Pete Bellotte), perpetuating the FENDI tradition of collaboration with the Italian electronic music scene.

]]>The post Must-Have | FENDACE: The Creative Exchange of Versace and Fendi appeared first on Miami Fashion Spotlight.
]]>When we ask ourselves what is a “must-have”? Probably the first thing that comes to mind are the essential pieces and they are all right. You must have them because they are essential. But we need to talk about those collections that have been unique and unforgettable, created with such passion and artistry by iconic designers that have gone down in history for their originality—these designs have become priceless pieces that everyone wants to own. This is a real “must-have” for us!
This is the case of FENDACE: Our must-have collection for this edition!
FENDACE was the result of a collaboration and creative exchange between two iconic fashion houses: Fendi and Versace—or rather, two groups of iconoclastic people who have made this unique moment in fashion possible. FENDACE is a celebration of Italian fashion for many, representing freedom, fun, and virtuosity for both houses.
[/one_half] [one_half_last padding=”0 0px 0 10px”] Must-Have | FENDACE: El Intercambio Creativo de Versace y Fendi

Crossing the partisan lines of luxury conglomerates and inspired by professional friendship and mutual respect, the double signature “FENDACE” is a swap with swapped roles. For the first time, Donatella Versace and Silvia Venturini-Fendi left their respective family homes to draw inspiration from each other’s vision, while Kim Jones, an expert at inhabiting and reinventing other people’s homes, pointed them to the road.
In this collection, Jones and Venturini-Fendi took on womenswear and menswear design, respectively, showing us their exceptional vision of Versace, while Versace took on design for everyone, showing us their inimitable interpretation of Fendi.
With the archives fully open to both houses, a unique cross-fertilization took place, with elements transposed from each one, prevailing the deep admiration for the codes and cultures of both, coupled with the mutual encouragement that allowed the designers to be themselves.
[/one_half] [one_half_last padding=”0 0px 0 10px”]
[/one_half_last]

[one_half padding=”0 20px 0 0″]
We must say that the results could only be achieved thanks to the mutual respect and mutual trust between the two fashion houses. “FENDACE” has been considered the result of the need for sincerity in the current fashion.
The show, which took place at the Versace headquarters in Via Gesù in Milan, was dedicated to Kip Sims, a very dear colleague and friend of Kim Jones, and the house of Fendi, where the pieces impressed all attendees by fusing the logos of both fashion houses. The belts were the main protagonists due to the FENDACE logo, as well as many other pieces that are still in our minds due to their exclusivity, and that deserved that we pass on the information to our readers!
“It is the first time in fashion history that two designers have a true creative dialogue, derived from respect and friendship, leading them to exchange roles for creating these two collections” –Donatella Versace.
“Friends, idols, mentors…it is the beauty of this union.” — Kim Jones.
[/one_half] [one_half_last padding=”0 0px 0 10px”]
–-Kim Jones.

]]>The post FENDI Flavus | A yellow and white diamond parure revealed on the Fendi Couture Autumn/Winter 2022 Runway appeared first on Miami Fashion Spotlight.
]]>In an ode to FENDI’s Roman heritage, the one-of-a-kind parure is a pure expression of light, movement, and the brilliant optimism of white and yellow diamonds. Shimmering amidst showers of precious pavé and baguette white diamonds, the inverted FF monogram designed by Karl Lagerfeld in 1965 emerges in a flash of natural yellow baguette diamonds within each design.
Consisting of a necklace, earrings, and cocktail ring, the FENDI Flavus parure orbits around a cascading, geometric assemblage of stones. Invoking the Latin term flavus, an ancient Roman signification for yellow, or blond, the harmonious accord of white and fancy vivid yellow diamonds creates a spectacular play of color and light.
The Flavus necklace is a symmetrical pointed cascade in white and yellow gold, with a shower of articulated stems of alternating lengths suspended on a double strand of diamond solitaires. Comprising over 1000 stones, a large exceptional fancy vivid yellow emerald cut diamond at its heart is framed at opposing corners by the inverted FF monogram detailed in natural yellow diamond baguettes. Like a Roman fountain, this sparkling, fluid necklace fuses exquisite FENDI craftsmanship with Delfina Delettrez Fendi’s fascination with the relationship between kinetic forms and the human body.
The Flavus earrings replicate the same undulating flow, in two mirrored cascades that each reflect the same precious expression of the FF monogram in yellow diamond baguettes around a central fancy vivid yellow emerald cut diamond. The Flavus ring reprises this device in a single bold 360° gesture.
Rooted in Roman mythology, the FENDI Flavus parure, a first preview of High Jewelry from the House, melds the mechanical and the organic with a dose of sculptural, mid-century glamor.

]]>Upside down and inside out – just like the FENDI – the vocabulary of Silvia Venturini Fendi’s man is built on a constant play of contrasts and juxtapositions. ‘It’s about a balance of decoration and simplicity,’ she says, ‘An ageless sense of freedom to play, as we rediscover the luxury of free time.’
This soulful curiosity lies at the heart of the FENDI men’s universe, spanning out in a boundless exploration of style at the fulcrum between nostalgia and innovation. Investigating the other side of normality, the classic men’s wardrobe – in the sense of familiar shapes and materials – becomes a source of inspiration to analyse, deconstruct, and elevate through novelty and craftsmanship.
Approaching summer dressing as a round-the-world ticket to holiday destinations near and far, the FENDI Spring/Summer 2023 collection packs a playful punch of colour reflecting the earth, sea and sky, from melon and indigo to ochre, putty, cornflower blue and silver grey.
