Tropical Greenery & Blooms: An Expert Floral Artist’s Guide to Lush Arrangements

By Francis Yechitch | Designing with Blooms

There is something about tropical greenery that belongs naturally to Miami.

Perhaps it is the architecture opening toward gardens and water. Perhaps it is our light—the kind that makes every shade of green appear richer and more saturated. Or perhaps it is simply that, in Miami, nature has never learned how to be discreet.

As a floral and event designer, I have always been fascinated by that sense of abundance.

At Alegria Party Design, I often work with clients who tell me they want something “tropical,” but what they are really asking for is much more specific. They want an arrangement that feels lush without looking wild, glamorous without becoming theatrical, and unmistakably Miami without resembling a themed party.

That distinction is where design begins.

For me, the most beautiful tropical floral arrangements in Miami are created by treating greenery—palms, monstera, philodendron and other sculptural leaves—with the same importance we traditionally give to flowers.

Then I introduce the blooms strategically.

An orchid can create movement. A cluster of roses can bring softness. Anthuriums add structure. And suddenly, what began as a collection of tropical leaves becomes an entire atmosphere.

Tropical Does Not Have to Mean Excess

Tropical Does Not Have to Mean Excess

One of the biggest misconceptions about tropical floral design is that everything must be enormous, brightly colored and overflowing.

It does not.

Luxury is often about restraint and editing.

I might use one spectacular monstera leaf instead of five, allowing its shape to become part of the composition. A few carefully positioned palm leaves can create height and movement without overwhelming the table.

The goal is not to show how many tropical elements we can fit into an arrangement.

The goal is to make every element feel intentional.

When I design, I constantly ask myself: Where does the eye need to rest? Where should the arrangement move? What deserves attention?

Those questions are just as important in floral design as they are in interior design.

Start With Greenery and Build the Architecture

Start With Greenery and Build the Architecture

When people look at a floral arrangement, they usually notice the flowers first.

As a designer, I often begin somewhere else.

I begin with the greenery.

Palms, monstera leaves and sculptural tropical foliage create what I like to call the architecture of the arrangement.

A palm can draw the eye upward.

A monstera leaf can establish an elegant horizontal line.

A curved tropical leaf can introduce movement.

Once that architecture is established, I begin placing flowers within the spaces the greenery has created.

This approach gives an arrangement dimension rather than simply making it look full.

It is also one of my favorite techniques for larger events because greenery has the ability to transform a room before guests ever stop to notice an individual flower.

Orchids Are Miami’s Quiet Luxury

Orchids Are Miami’s Quiet Luxury

If there is one flower I return to again and again in tropical design, it is the orchid.

Orchids have an extraordinary ability to feel exotic and sophisticated at the same time.

They never need to shout.

A white phalaenopsis orchid cascading between deep green leaves can feel almost architectural. Purple orchids introduce drama, while soft blush varieties bring romance to a tropical palette without sacrificing its modern character.

I especially love working with orchids in Miami homes and events because they connect so effortlessly with our surroundings.

They feel at home beside contemporary interiors, waterfront settings, modern architecture and outdoor celebrations.

My rule is simple: when the greenery already brings drama, let the orchid bring elegance rather than competition.

Monstera Leaves Are More Than a Tropical Symbol

Tropical Floral Arrangements in Miami: A Designer’s Guide

Monstera leaves have become almost synonymous with tropical décor, which is exactly why they need to be used thoughtfully.

When an element becomes instantly recognizable, the designer’s challenge is to make it feel fresh again.

I like to use monstera leaves almost as sculpture.

Their distinctive openings create negative space within an arrangement, something that can be incredibly valuable visually.

Rather than placing them everywhere, I may use one generous leaf at the base of a composition or position it at an unexpected angle to create asymmetry.

The result feels more editorial and less predictable.

In sophisticated tropical design, a monstera leaf should never feel as though it was added simply because the setting is Miami.

It should feel essential to the composition.

Mix Tropical Foliage With Unexpected Flowers

Tropical Floral Arrangements in Miami: A Designer’s Guide

This is where tropical arrangements become truly interesting.

There is no rule that says tropical foliage must be paired only with tropical flowers.

In fact, I often prefer the opposite.

Imagine glossy monstera leaves beside creamy garden roses.

Palm leaves with white hydrangeas.

Orchids floating among delicate ranunculus.

Anthuriums surrounded by softer, more romantic blooms.

These contrasts create visual tension—and beautiful floral design needs a little tension.

The greenery provides strength and structure, while softer flowers introduce romance.

For a wedding, I may soften tropical foliage with white or blush blooms. For a contemporary celebration, I might combine greenery with sculptural flowers and a more restrained palette.

And for a glamorous Miami dinner, I might introduce deeper tones—wine, plum, burnt coral or even touches of chocolate.

Tropical does not dictate the color palette.

It gives us the vocabulary. The designer still writes the story.

Let Miami Influence the Arrangement

Tropical Floral Arrangements in Miami: A Designer’s Guide

I never design flowers without considering the space around them.

A floral arrangement is part of an environment.

For a waterfront event, I may use lighter, airier palms and white orchids so the design seems to move with the landscape.

Inside a contemporary Miami residence, I might choose strong monstera leaves with restrained white blooms to complement clean architectural lines.

In a lush outdoor garden, I can allow the arrangement to become more abundant because it is in direct conversation with nature.

And in an elegant ballroom, tropical greenery can become dramatically sophisticated through scale, candlelight and carefully selected florals.

The setting should always participate in the design.

One of the secrets behind memorable tropical floral arrangements in Miami is understanding that Miami itself is already part of the décor.

We do not need to imitate the tropics.

We are surrounded by them.

Create Movement Instead of Perfect Symmetry

Tropical Floral Arrangements in Miami: A Designer’s Guide

Nature is rarely perfectly symmetrical.

That is why some of my favorite arrangements seem to move.

A palm leaf rises slightly higher on one side.

An orchid cascades unexpectedly.

A monstera leaf extends just beyond the vessel.

Those gestures give the arrangement personality.

Perfectly rounded floral designs can be beautiful, but when I am working with tropical materials, I often prefer something more organic.

I want the eye to travel through the composition.

This is also why varying heights is so important.

When flowers are positioned at exactly the same level, even extraordinary blooms can appear flat. Different heights create depth and allow individual elements to emerge naturally.

A sophisticated tropical centerpiece should feel composed—but never rigid.

The Secret to a Lush Arrangement Is Knowing When to Stop

Tropical Floral Arrangements in Miami: A Designer’s Guide

Clients sometimes assume that creating a lush arrangement means continuing to add more and more flowers.

For me, the opposite is often true.

One of the most important moments in the creative process is recognizing when an arrangement is finished.

Lushness comes from layering, scale, texture and movement—not simply from quantity.

I want to see the glossy surface of a leaf against the softness of a petal.

A single orchid to have enough breathing room for its shape to be appreciated.

I want greenery to create shadows and flowers to bring light.

When all those elements begin speaking to one another, I stop.

Because great floral design should never feel as though every possible idea has been used.

It should feel effortless.

That is the kind of tropical beauty I love most: abundant yet edited, dramatic yet elegant, and deeply connected to the energy of Miami.

When palms, orchids, monstera leaves and flowers are combined with intention, they do much more than decorate a table or transform a room.

They create a sense of place.

And sometimes, the most memorable arrangement is the one that makes you feel Miami before you can even explain why.

Follaje Tropical y Flores: Guía de un Artista Floral para Crear Arreglos Exuberantes

Por Francis Rosales Yechitch| Designing with Blooms

No necesariamente.

From Beach to Bouquet: Coastal-Inspired Floral Décor for Your Home

By Francis Yechitch – Floral Artist, Miami Event Planner & Owner of Alegria Party Design | Column: Designing with Blooms.

Living and designing in Miami means I am surrounded daily by the beauty of the coast. The ocean is not just scenery here — it is energy, movement, and inspiration. Over the years, I have learned how to translate that coastal essence into floral décor that feels effortless, elegant, and deeply connected to nature.

In this guide, I want to show you how to take inspiration from the beach to the bouquet, creating coastal-inspired floral décor that brings calm, light, and sophistication into your home.

What Defines Coastal-Inspired Floral Décor?

Coastal floral design is not about themed decorations or obvious beach symbols. Instead, it is about simplicity, balance, and flow. When I design coastal arrangements, I focus on how the flowers move, how they interact with light, and how they make a space feel.

True coastal décor feels natural and relaxed, yet intentional. It should look as though the arrangement belongs exactly where it is placed.

A Color Palette Inspired by Sea and Sky

Color is the foundation of any coastal floral design. I am drawn to hues that mirror the shoreline and evoke a sense of tranquility.

My go-to coastal palette includes:

  • Soft whites and ivories for light and purity
  • Pale blues and muted aquas inspired by the ocean
  • Sandy beige and warm neutrals for grounding
  • Gentle touches of blush or coral for warmth

These colors work beautifully together and adapt effortlessly to both modern and classic interiors.

Flowers That Capture Coastal Elegance

Not every flower belongs in a coastal arrangement. I carefully select blooms that feel airy, fluid, and organic.

Some of my favorite flowers for coastal-inspired décor include:

  • White roses and spray roses
  • Hydrangeas in white or soft blue tones
  • Ranunculus and garden roses for softness
  • Orchids for elegance and movement
  • Delphinium to add height and lightness

I often combine structured blooms with looser elements to create a design that feels alive and expressive.

The Importance of Texture and Natural Elements

Texture is what elevates coastal floral décor from simple to exceptional. I love incorporating natural elements that enhance the organic feel of an arrangement.

This may include:

  • Flowing greenery with natural movement
  • Dried accents such as pampas grass or palm details
  • Ceramic, stone, or glass vases with soft finishes
  • Surrounding décor made of wood, linen, or woven fibers

These elements bring depth and authenticity to the overall design.

Styling Coastal Florals Throughout Your Home

One of the most beautiful things about coastal floral décor is its versatility. Each room can benefit from a thoughtfully placed arrangement.

  • Entryways: A light, welcoming arrangement sets the tone for the entire home.
  • Living rooms: Low, airy centerpieces encourage conversation and connection.
  • Dining tables: Elegant yet relaxed arrangements create an inviting atmosphere.
  • Bedrooms: Minimal florals promote calm and balance.

The key is restraint. Coastal design should enhance your space, not overwhelm it.

Why Coastal Florals Create Emotional Balance

Coastal-inspired florals have a unique ability to slow us down. They remind us of open horizons, gentle breezes, and moments of stillness. In a world that moves quickly, these arrangements bring emotional balance and a sense of peace. For me, floral design is never just decoration. It is storytelling. Every arrangement reflects nature, emotion, and intention.

A Coastal State of Mind, Designed in Flowers

Designing with coastal-inspired florals is about more than aesthetics. It is about creating a feeling — one of calm, harmony, and connection. Whether you live by the ocean or simply dream of it, these floral designs allow you to bring that serenity into your everyday life.

At Alegría Party Design, I believe flowers should speak softly yet powerfully. When designed with intention, coastal florals transform a home into a place that feels light, welcoming, and beautifully alive.

Thank you for inviting flowers into your home and into your life. Until next time, keep designing with heart and blooming with purpose.

  • Rosas blancas y mini rosas

  • Dormitorio: Flores mínimas ayudan a crear equilibrio y tranquilidad.

The Artistry of Thanksgiving: A High-Fashion Tablescape by Alegría Party Design

There are moments when a holiday table becomes more than decoration — it becomes a story, a feeling, a memory in the making. This year, my Thanksgiving dinner was transformed into an artistic experience thanks to a special collaboration with Alegría Party Design, led by Miami floral artist Francis Yechitch, with creative direction elevated by couture designer Samy Gicherman, whose impeccable eye for detail brought the styling to an entirely new level.

Together, they created a tablescape that blended European refinement, warm autumn tones, and symbolic seasonal elements — all illuminated by candlelight that filled the room with intimacy. The result was a Thanksgiving celebration that felt elevated, personal, and deeply meaningful.

From the lush florals — burgundies, reds, oranges, greens, and neutrals — to the sculptural use of grapes, apples, and pomegranates, every element was intentionally chosen. Wooden pumpkins, shimmering votives, taper candles, and layered tableware created a refined setting rooted in tradition yet expressed with modern artistry.

The Creative Vision: Francis + Samy

The Creative Vision: Francis + Samy

Francis brought his signature European-inspired eye, using natural seasonal elements to symbolize abundance, gratitude, and renewal. His inclusion of Sweet Gum Tree seeds added a surprising texture that complemented the harvest fruits and blooms.

Samy infused the tablescape with his couture sensibility — harmonizing textures, colors, and visual rhythm with the elegance that defines his fashion. His artistic direction elevated the floral and fruit composition, giving the table a fashion-forward sophistication while keeping it warm, intimate, and inviting. Together, their shared creativity achieved a stunning balance: a table that felt both high-fashion and deeply personal.

What inspired you to create the Thanksgiving table décor?
“This table was inspired by celebrating Thanksgiving with a refined, European-influenced aesthetic. I wanted to move away from clichés and create something warm, seasonal, and elevated.”

Any themes or traditions incorporated?
“Yes. I used seasonal fruits like grapes, apples, and pomegranates to symbolize abundance, gratitude, and renewal. I also added Sweet Gum Tree seeds, which fascinated me because of their shape. Wooden pumpkins offered a traditional touch without overwhelming the design.”

  1. Creating a Festive Atmosphere

How can readers recreate a similar atmosphere?
“Start with a clear color palette, keep arrangements low for conversation, and mix natural elements with refined tableware. Candles — votives and tapers — are essential for warmth.”

What elements are essential for a welcoming décor?
“Fresh flowers, seasonal fruits, layered textures, and quality tableware.”

  1. Incorporating Fruits and Flowers

How should fruits and flowers be used together?
“Use fruits as accents, not the main feature. Let them flow naturally along the floral runner to break symmetry in a subtle, elegant way.”

Which fruits and flowers work best for Thanksgiving?
“Red grapes, apples, and pomegranates add richness and tradition. Flowers in deep reds, burgundies, oranges, greens, and neutrals pair beautifully.”

  1. Color Palette

What is the ideal Thanksgiving palette?
“Warm reds, burgundy, soft greens, and natural wood tones.”

How do you choose colors that complement the holiday?
“I look for harmony between florals, fruits, linens, and candles.”

Practical Elegance: Tips From Alegría Party Design

Arranging fruits and florals:
“Keep arrangements elongated and low. Combine lush blooms with simple greenery, and cluster fruits naturally.”

Maintaining function while keeping beauty:
“Leave space for serving pieces and avoid tall decorations.”

Personal touches:
“With handwritten place cards, meaningful dinnerware, or napkins that suit the home’s aesthetic.”

DIY accents:
“Candle groupings, personalized menus, or small wooden pumpkins add charm without complexity.”

By Francis Yechitch
Welcome to my guide on how to design floral arrangements with purpose and intention.

The Art of Blooming in Miami (Seasons)

In Miami and South Florida, we live surrounded by sunlight almost all year long. We only get a few cool days — and when they arrive, we celebrate them with open arms. September brought plenty of rain across the city, refreshing our gardens and filling the air with that unmistakable scent of nature.

Now that October has gracefully faded and November begins to unfold, the rhythm of the city feels softer — still radiant, but a little more serene. The hurricane season slowly comes to an end, and we welcome the calm that follows. These weeks mark a beautiful transition between tropical storms and cozy moments. It’s the perfect time to let your floral arrangements reflect that change — bringing warmth, texture, and comfort into your home as we move toward the fall season.

One of the wonderful things about living in Miami is that most flowers are available all year round. Tulips and peonies may come and go with the seasons, but nearly every other bloom can be found at any time. Thanks to that abundance, many of my clients no longer follow seasonal color trends — instead, they choose flowers that match their personality, their mood, or the décor of their spaces. This freedom allows floral design in Miami to feel vibrant, spontaneous, and deeply personal.

For those who love the colors of autumn, I always suggest creating warmth through your arrangements. Since Miami doesn’t have the golden leaves and crisp air of northern autumns, we can bring that feeling indoors. Try mixing orange marigolds, rust-colored chrysanthemums, deep red roses, and bronze alstroemerias. These tones capture the spirit of fall and make your space feel cozy and alive. Pair them with wooden vases or ceramic pots to create a natural, grounded look — perfect for the season.

When winter arrives, Miami transforms for just a few days. The humidity fades, and we finally enjoy sweaters, candles, and comfort food. For those brief, cool spells, I love decorating with white amaryllis, soft pink ranunculus, and dusty miller leaves. These flowers reflect the gentle beauty of the season. Arrange them in glass or silver vases for a touch of sophistication — or use matte ceramic vases for a minimalist, modern vibe.

But if the cold lasts too long (and by “long,” I mean more than a week!), we Floridians start missing the beach. We love the sun too much to stay indoors for long. When that happens, I always suggest creating a beach-inspired arrangement — something that reminds you of the ocean breeze and that sense of freedom we all love. Combine white orchids, blue delphiniums, and touches of coral roses, and accent the arrangement with seashells or driftwood. It’s a simple but powerful reminder that the sun and sea are never too far away — and that brighter days always return.

That’s when I always tell my friends — keep your home blooming. Fill it with light, color, and fragrance to remind you that even when the weather changes, Miami’s eternal summer spirit always shines through.

Flower Therapy for the Soul (Mood)

As a floral designer and the founder of Alegria Party Design, I’ve seen firsthand how flowers can change not just the look of a room, but the way people feel inside it. Flowers are pure energy — they heal, they uplift, and they bring balance.

When I work with clients across Miami and South Florida, I always tell them: flowers are emotional mirrors. A bouquet can brighten a rainy afternoon, turn stress into calm, or fill a home with hope.

Here are some of my favorite blooms and the feelings they bring:
• Lavender – perfect for calm and relaxation; I love placing it in bedrooms or meditation corners.
• Sunflowers – pure joy. They radiate optimism and make your kitchen or dining space come alive.
• Peonies – symbols of love and abundance, ideal for living rooms or social gatherings.
• Ranunculus – delicate layers that evoke creativity; perfect for a workspace or art studio.

When chosen with intention, flowers become natural therapy for the spirit — they help you reset the mood of your home and your mind.

Designing for Success and Balance (Business Energy & Feng Shui)

Designing with intention is the key to success. Every arrangement I create begins with a goal — whether it’s to attract prosperity, inspire creativity, or strengthen harmony within a space. In business, flowers are more than decoration; they are energy tools that help set the tone for achievement and growth.

When I design floral arrangements for corporate spaces or creative studios — including the bouquet I deliver each month to the Miami Fashion Spotlight office — I think about the company’s vision, momentum, and success. Each design carries a specific purpose: to inspire productivity, attract abundance, and balance the emotional energy of the environment.

According to feng shui, flowers hold powerful symbolism. They bring life force into a space, helping ideas bloom and opportunities expand. Fresh flowers placed in the wealth area of an office — usually the far-left corner from the main entrance — can stimulate prosperity and focus.

If you want to channel success and positive flow in your workspace:
• Choose orchids to promote elegance, concentration, and clarity in decision-making.
• Add bamboo or lucky bamboo for steady growth and financial stability.
• Use green hydrangeas or jade-toned foliage to symbolize wealth, balance, and expansion.
• Include yellow tulips or orange roses to awaken creativity, confidence, and joy.

Creating arrangements for professional spaces is not about superstition — it’s about intention and alignment. When your environment reflects your goals, it supports your success. And with flowers, you can design that energy beautifully — one bloom at a time.

 Weekends, Fresh Air & Inspiration

I live in Brickell, surrounded by buildings and city lights, so weekends are sacred to me. I love escaping the concrete for open spaces — gardens, parks, or anywhere I can breathe and recharge. My partner, Samy, and I often spend weekends outdoors, exploring new spots around Miami. Those moments in nature fill me with inspiration for new designs.

The colors of a sunset at Key Biscayne, the texture of palm leaves in Coconut Grove, or the vibrant cayenas swaying in the warm breeze — these are the details that spark my creativity.

Weekends are also a perfect time to reset your home’s energy. Whether you’re a stay-at-home soul or someone who’s always out enjoying the city, flowers can help set the mood for your weekend spirit.

For those who love to stay in, I suggest arrangements that feel festive yet cozy — something that turns your living space into a celebration of life. Try a centerpiece with roses, peonies, and candles, or a vase filled with orange ranunculus, gardenias, and lush greenery. Add a touch of citrus — perhaps a few slices of lime — to awaken the senses and fill the air with freshness.

For those who love to go out, keep your home inviting and serene, so it welcomes you back with open arms. A soft arrangement of white orchids, pale pink roses, and eucalyptus gives that sense of calm sophistication. Place it in a clear glass or ceramic vase by the entryway or on a coffee table — so when you return, your home feels peaceful, charming, and full of love.

Weekends are about balance — time to recharge, celebrate, and surround yourself with what makes you feel alive. And for me, nothing does that better than flowers.

Preparing for the Holiday Season (Holidays & Celebrations)

As the holidays approach, I can already feel the excitement building across Miami. Clients are refreshing their gardens, redecorating their living rooms, and calling me to bring Alegría into their homes for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

This is one of my favorite times of the year — not because of the gifts or the parties, but because flowers have a way of bringing families together. A well-designed arrangement can transform a simple dinner into a heartfelt celebration, filling the room with warmth, gratitude, and connection.

For Thanksgiving, I always encourage people to choose flowers that express togetherness, love, and friendship. Think of warm tones that make the heart feel full — orange roses, amber chrysanthemums, rust-colored calla lilies, and golden sunflowers. Add touches of eucalyptus or magnolia leaves for grounding, and if you’d like to symbolize abundance, include pomegranates or berries among the flowers. These arrangements create a welcoming, peaceful atmosphere where everyone feels at home.

As Christmas approaches, many people worry that floral arrangements will compete with their tree or holiday décor. My advice: let them complement, not compete. If your Christmas palette includes red and gold, choose white lilies, ivory roses, or red amaryllis with touches of pine or cedar. For homes decorated in silver and blue, go for white orchids, pale hydrangeas, or dusty miller leaves to reflect the cool tones of the season.

To maintain harmony, keep your holiday arrangements simple and intentional — one or two statement pieces placed near the dining area or entryway are enough to create a cohesive, elegant look. And remember, flowers carry emotion: roses for love, orchids for peace, and tulips for friendship.

Whatever your style, the most meaningful arrangements are the ones created with heart. When you choose flowers that reflect gratitude, unity, and love, you’re not just decorating your home — you’re nurturing the spirit of the holidays.

Final Thoughts: Let Life Bloom Around You (Flower Arrangements Miami Home Decor)

Miami has taught me that beauty never stops blooming — even on gray days. Flowers are my way of keeping that joy alive, no matter the weather or season.

So if you ever feel the blues when the skies turn gray, open your windows, play some music, and bring home a bouquet. Let the colors lift your spirit and remind you that life, just like flowers, always finds a way to bloom again.

And remember — if you ever need help designing arrangements that speak with emotion and positive energy, I’m just a message away. Whether it’s for your home, business, or next celebration, I’ll bring a little Alegría and a touch of Miami sunshine to every bloom.

By Lissette Rondon

Under the Mediterranean Sunset — A Birthday Dinner to Remember

Amalfi Coast inspired table decor

There are rare occasions when décor transcends ornamentation and becomes pure storytelling. For my birthday this year, Francis Yechitch—the creative force behind Alegria Party Design—transformed my lake-view poolside into a living ode to the Amalfi Coast.

Golden lemons glistened beneath a lush canopy of greenery, interwoven with glass lanterns that flickered as twilight fell. The table bloomed with artistry: blue-and-white ceramic vases filled with yellow roses, daisies, and chrysanthemums, deep green plates set on woven chargers, striped napkins tied around lemons, and crystal goblets reflecting the pool’s shimmer. Creative partner Samy Gicherman brought couture precision, balancing textures, vertical drama, and color rhythm. This was not simply a table; it was a Mediterranean dream translated into design.

For me, it was a magical surprise. In that moment, I felt transported to Italy — a country I have loved so much, the scenery of many travels and wedding anniversaries with my husband. That’s why Francis chose this décor: to recreate the places that live in my heart. The twinkling lanterns evoked the charm of Tuscany, the lemons carried me straight to the Amalfi Coast, the rustic touches whispered of the countryside in Abruzzo, and the vintage details stirred the timeless feeling that only Rome has ever given me. The décor also evoked the romantic journeys my husband and I have cherished together — from strolling hand in hand in Portofino to celebrating anniversaries by the serene waters of Lake Como.

Q&A with Francis Yechitch of Alegria Party Design

That evening was unforgettable — my birthday surprise, crafted with so much love and artistry by Francis and Samy. I was still speechless when I sat down to ask him about this breathtaking Amalfi-inspired creation. With a heart full of gratitude, I wanted to know more about how he transformed my poolside into a dream of Italy.

Creative Vision & Inspiration

Amalfi Coast inspired table decor

MFS (Lissette): Francis, thank you again for this magical birthday surprise. I’m still overwhelmed by the beauty and detail you brought to life. Tell me — what was your main inspiration for creating this Amalfi Coast–inspired table setting?

Francis: The Amalfi Coast embodies the art of living beautifully, where sunshine, sea, and culture merge into effortless elegance. Our vision was to translate that Mediterranean joie de vivre into a table setting. Yellow, the color of joy and abundance, became the heartbeat, layered with deep greens and Mediterranean blues to channel that coastal glamour. It’s more than a table; it’s an invitation to step into a cinematic summer evening on the Italian coast.

MFS (Lissette): I noticed every element felt connected, like part of a story. How did you manage to blend Mediterranean details like lemons, blue ceramics, and greenery into such harmony?

Francis: We approached it like couture: each layer carefully considered until the whole felt alive. The lemons added vibrancy, the blue ceramics spoke of heritage and artistry, and the greenery softened and wove everything together. The effect was not eclectic but harmonious, as though each element was always meant to belong together.

MFS (Lissette): You know my love for Italy. Was there a memory, a trip, or even a specific evening there that inspired this table?

Francis: Yes, absolutely. We had just returned from Italy, the cradle of art and design. Walking through markets in Capri, dining al fresco in Positano, and watching lanterns glow at dusk, those moments became the DNA of this design. We never do exact recreations; we use our experiences as inspiration for our own art — a distillation of memories into atmosphere, color, and detail.

Design Process & Details

MFS (Lissette): When I sat down, I couldn’t stop admiring the green plates, the blue vases, and the bright florals. How did you decide on this striking combination?

Francis: It was about creating dialogue through color. The green plates anchor the landscape, the blue-printed vases bring Mediterranean tradition, and the florals, from roses to daisies, radiate the sunlit Amalfi energy. Placed together, they evoke the coastline’s harmony of sea, land, and sky.

MFS (Lissette): The lighting stole my heart. As the lanterns glowed at sunset, it felt like Tuscany. How do you see lighting’s role in outdoor styling?

Francis: Lighting is transformative. It’s not an accessory; it’s atmosphere. Here, suspended lanterns and scattered votives created layers of light, bathing the table in golden warmth. At twilight, the scene became almost theatrical, where every lemon, every petal, every glass reflected back with cinematic radiance.

MFS (Lissette): The flowers looked stunning all night long! How do you choose blooms that match the theme but also last outdoors?

Francis: We look for blooms with resilience and presence. For this table, vibrant roses and chrysanthemums were ideal: bold in color, strong in form, and able to withstand the open air. Outdoors, flowers must be both beautiful and practical, and when chosen carefully, they perform as elegantly at midnight as they did at sunset.

Personal Connection & Meaning

Amalfi Coast inspired table decor

MFS (Lissette): You know Italy means so much to me — so many anniversaries, so many memories with my husband. How did you weave my personal story into this table?

Francis: We wanted it to feel like a personal journey back to Italy. The lemons spoke of Sorrento, the ceramics whispered of Amalfi craft, the striped napkins hinted at seaside umbrellas. It was curated not only with beauty in mind, but with your affection for the Mediterranean woven into every detail.

MFS (Lissette): What was your favorite detail — the one that made the biggest impact for you?

Francis: The lemon canopy. It wasn’t just décor, it was architecture. It transformed the table into an orchard by the pool, giving guests the sense of dining beneath lemon trees. That immersive, overhead design elevated the experience from chic to unforgettable.

MFS (Lissette): Sitting at that table, I felt so transported. How do you want guests to feel when they sit at a table you’ve designed?

Francis: We want them to forget for a moment where they are and feel embraced by beauty. At our tables, dining becomes more than food, it becomes memory, emotion, and a celebration of living well.

Collaboration & Teamwork

Amalfi Coast inspired table decor

MFS (Lissette): We can’t forget Samy! What role did he play in bringing this vision to life?

Francis: Samy infused the project with couture sensibility. The precision of textures, the rhythm of the colors, even the decision to structure the table with bold vertical elements, those details bear the mark of a fashion designer’s eye for balance and drama.

MFS (Lissette): You two have worked together so many times. How does this creative partnership shape the final result?

Francis: It’s an exchange of visions. My floral and event perspective meets his couture discipline, and together we create something that feels styled, not staged. It’s as though the table is dressed, not just arranged.

MFS (Lissette): I loved that unplanned magic at twilight, when everything shimmered. Was there a spontaneous moment that surprised you?

Francis: Yes. As we lit the lanterns, the sun was dipping and twilight embraced the garden. Suddenly, everything shifted, the table glowed, the flowers shimmered, and the ambiance became utterly magical. It was unplanned, but it was the moment the table took on a soul.

Expert Tips & Advice

Amalfi Coast inspired table decor

MFS (Lissette): For readers who want to bring a little Amalfi magic home, what key elements should they focus on?

Francis: Start with color: yellow lemons, blue ceramics, and greenery. Add texture with woven chargers and striped linens. And never underestimate candlelight. With those essentials, even the simplest table can feel Mediterranean and chic.

MFS (Lissette): Do you have a “secret tip” — something small that can make a dinner unforgettable?

Francis: Think vertically. Most people decorate only the tabletop, but when you extend design overhead, with greenery, lanterns, or fruit, you create an immersive atmosphere. Pair that with music and scent, and suddenly dinner becomes an experience.

MFS (Lissette): Finally, as someone always ahead of the curve, what trends in luxury outdoor dining do you see for the coming season?

Francis: Luxury dining is moving toward storytelling. Tables are no longer just styled; they are curated to transport guests. Expect bold colors, immersive themes, and designs that capture the spirit of destinations. This year, it’s less about perfection and more about emotion, tables that feel alive, evocative, and unforgettable.

A Celebration of Friendship, Beauty, and the Mediterranean Spirit

Amalfi Coast inspired table decor

As the evening unfolded, the gentle shimmer of candlelight danced across the water, and laughter mingled with the scent of citrus, fresh blooms, and basil. This table was more than a birthday surprise — it was a heartfelt expression of artistry, friendship, and shared memories.

And because no Italian-inspired evening is complete without food, the menu was as enchanting as the table: gemelli pasta with tomatoes and burrata—one of my all-time favorite dishes. Each bite, perfectly in harmony with the décor, created a multisensory journey that brought the spirit of the Mediterranean fully to life. The feast concluded with Tiramisù al Limone for dessert, accompanied by Aperol Spritz and Pinot Grigio—adding a touch of freshness that carried us straight into the heart of Italy’s lifestyle.

Italy will always remain in my heart. Even though I have traveled extensively around the world, it continues to be my favorite country — not only for its breathtaking culture but also for its charming people. Countless beautiful and joyful moments have unfolded there, always revolving around food, wine, and friends. The language enchants me — how Italians speak with their hands, infusing every word with passion. There is also a profound sense of community that surrounds you wherever you go, a warmth that makes me feel so alive.

Perhaps it’s too soon to think of retirement there… or perhaps not. What I do know is that Italy has given me unforgettable memories, and nights like this one remind me that its spirit will always be part of me. Ci vediamo!

MFS (Lissette): Sentada allí, me sentí transportada.

MFS (Lissette): ¡No podemos olvidar a Samy!

Nuestra Mesa Amalfitana (Amalfi Coast Inspired Table Decor)

Ci Vediamo!

Designing with Blooms: The Secret to Long-Lasting Floral Beauty in Your Home

By Francis Yechitch | Column: Designing with Blooms | Because fresh flowers should never fade too soon.

Bringing Flowers to Life at Home

As a floral designer and founder of Alegria Party Design, I’ve spent many years creating arrangements for weddings, events, and private homes across Miami and South Florida. One of the questions I hear most often is: “How can I make my flowers last longer?”

The truth is, keeping flowers fresh and vibrant at home is both an art and a science. With the right care, a bouquet or centerpiece can bring joy far beyond the first few days. Today, I want to share some of my favorite tips and secrets to help you keep your flowers beautiful for longer.

Choosing the Right Flowers and Plants

Not all flowers are the same when it comes to durability. Some varieties are naturally longer lasting. My go-to recommendations include:

  • Orchids – elegant and surprisingly resilient.
  • Roses – timeless, and with proper care they bloom beautifully.
  • Carnations – often overlooked, but among the longest-lasting.
  • Lilies – stunning and fragrant.
  • Peonies and ranunculus – romantic and lush.
  • Succulents – chic, modern, and extremely long-lasting.

Buy Fresh from the Source

When buying flowers, timing is everything. Always ask your local florist which day new shipments arrive. Buying on delivery day means you’re getting the freshest stems, sometimes only hours out of the cooler. This one simple step can make your arrangement last days longer.

Prepare Your Flowers Properly

Before you place flowers in a vase, preparation is key:

  1. Trim stems at a diagonal for better water absorption.
  2. Remove leaves below the water line to prevent bacteria.
  3. Use clean vases—any bacteria will shorten their life.

Water and Flower Food

Fresh flowers need hydration and nutrition. Use the packet of flower food if provided. Or make your own solution with:

  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • A few drops of bleach or vinegar
  • 1 quart of water

Refresh the water every two days and re-trim stems slightly. Succulents on the other hand, need far less water, making them ideal companions.

Keep Them Cool and Comfortable

Flowers love cooler conditions. In Miami’s heat, it helps to:

  • Keep them out of direct sunlight.
  • Avoid fruit bowls nearby (fruit gives off ethylene gas).
  • Place arrangements in a cooler part of your home at night.

Adding Style While Preserving Beauty

At Alegria Party Design, I always remind my clients: “Flowers are not only decoration, they are emotion.” For me, longevity isn’t only about how long they last—it’s about how long we can hold on to the feeling they create. Personally, I love arranging flowers in chinoiserie vases. The blue-and-white porcelain instantly elevates their natural beauty. Pair them with striped vessels in Ralph Lauren style, and your arrangement becomes part of the room’s design.

Final Thoughts: Long-lasting floral beauty in your home

Seeing flowers live their fullest life indoors is always a joy. With a little love and care, they can brighten your home far beyond the first bloom. And if you don’t always have the time to choose and prepare flowers yourself, I also offer a personalized service. I select the freshest blooms, design a custom arrangement, and deliver it right to your home—whether weekly or monthly, depending on your needs.

It’s my way of helping you create memories with flowers that last.

  • Lirios – deslumbrantes y fragantes.

  • Peonías y ranúnculos – románticos y llenos de vida.

  • Suculentas – modernas, elegantes y extremadamente longevas.

Reflexión Final (Long-lasting floral beauty in your home)

Designing with Blooms | By Francis Yechitch

Create a home that feels like a walk through the gardens of Versailles—no passport required.

When it comes to timeless style and effortless beauty, nothing compares to Parisian design. As a floral designer, I’ve always found deep inspiration in the romance of French interiors, the symmetry of classic gardens, and the elegance of antique accents. In this edition of Designing with Blooms, I’ll guide you through crafting Parisian-inspired floral décor that brings charm, softness, and European sophistication into your everyday spaces.

The Essence of Parisian Floral Style

French floral décor is never overdone. It’s all about balance—between the wild and the refined, the rustic and the regal. You’ll notice that Parisian-style arrangements often look like they were casually picked from a garden, yet each bloom seems perfectly placed. This “undone elegance” is the secret to mastering French floral charm.

Focus on Natural Beauty

Start by choosing flowers with soft, organic shapes. Think garden roses, peonies, ranunculus, hydrangeas, and lisianthus. Avoid overly structured bouquets. Let some stems fall naturally and allow room for air and movement. You’re not building a rigid centerpiece—you’re telling a story of quiet, feminine grace.

The French love soft tones. Pastels, blush pinks, creamy whites, dusty lavenders, and sage greens work beautifully. This color scheme adds a sense of serenity and lightness. Avoid bold or neon hues; instead, lean into delicate, dreamy colors that feel like a Monet painting.

French Vessels Make All the Difference

To channel that Parisian spirit, your vase matters as much as your flowers. Use vintage-looking vessels: ceramic urns, patinaed pitchers, etched glass, or anything with a touch of old-world charm. Mismatched styles are welcome, especially if they evoke a sense of history.

Place your arrangement where it can breathe—on a marble console, a gold-trimmed coffee table, or a rustic kitchen island with fresh croissants nearby. Let your flowers be the focal point without overwhelming the space.

Tips to Create Your Own French Floral Moment
  • Think about asymmetry. Avoid perfectly round bouquets. Let one or two stems trail to the side.
  • Mix textures. Combine fluffy blooms like peonies with airy filler flowers and leafy greenery.
  • Add a fragrant touch. Include a few sprigs of lavender or a single rose with scent—it’s very French.
  • Keep it seasonal. The French honor the moment. Use whatever is blooming now in your region.

A Final Touch: Pair with Parisian Décor Elements

Want to complete the look? Surround your floral arrangement with a few iconic French accents. A stack of fashion books, a gilded mirror, a candle in a scent like fig or tuberose, or even a delicate linen napkin can enhance the aesthetic. Every detail adds to the magic.

Bringing French elegance into your home doesn’t require a trip to Paris—just an appreciation for beauty, a few thoughtful blooms, and the joy of creating something with heart.

I hope this guide inspires you to add a bit of “je ne sais quoi” to your home with flowers that feel like poetry.

Francis Yechitch

A new chapter celebrating floral beauty and intention

I’m thrilled to share another installment of Designing with Blooms, where I open the doors to my floral world and the inspirations behind my work at Alegría Party Design. This time, I want to focus on one of my absolute favorites—orchids. Elegant, expressive, and full of quiet power, orchids are so much more than just beautiful flowers. In this edition, I’ll show you how to care for them, how to incorporate them into your space, and most importantly, how to appreciate them as living design elements that elevate any environment.

1. More Than Just a Pretty Flower

Designing with Blooms | Orchids in a Contemporary Key: Expert care for a living beauty—elegant and timeless

Orchids aren’t merely floral decorations. These are living, sophisticated plants that transform the space they inhabit. For many Millennials and Gen Z, orchids represent more than beauty—they’re part of a lifestyle that values emotional design, nature-connected living, and sustainable luxury.

The best part? A well-cared-for orchid can bloom and remain healthy for months.

2. Care is the New Luxury

Orchids in a Contemporary Key: Expert care for a living beauty—elegant and timeless

Behind every beautiful orchid is a plant that has been understood.
It’s not about strict formulas or “disposable plants.” It’s about tending to life, which requires attention and knowledge.

Essential care tips:
  • Bright but indirect light

  • Water only when the soil feels dry to the touch

  • Good airflow, but no strong drafts

  • Orchid-specific fertilizer every two weeks

An intentionally cared-for orchid becomes a quiet luxury that elevates any setting.

3. Botanical Design for Real Spaces

Orchids in a Contemporary Key: Expert care for a living beauty—elegant and timeless

At Alegría Party Design, we don’t treat orchids as “occasion plants.” We integrate them as part of interior design—in homes, offices, boutiques, hotels, and any space where style is felt in every detail.

We create orchid arrangements in pots that dialogue with the space, the visual identity, and the energy of the environment. Most importantly, we offer specialized maintenance to ensure these living plants remain healthy, blooming, and beautiful over time.

4. Where Do Orchids Shine Best? Where They Are Understood

Orchids in a Contemporary Key: Expert care for a living beauty—elegant and timeless

There’s no single “correct” place for an orchid. Their presence adapts.

  • In homes with aesthetic sensibility

  • In clinics and offices where wellness begins with ambiance

  • In lobbies, displays, or commercial spaces that understand the power of nature

Alegría Party Design offers custom botanical installation and maintenance services across Miami.

5. A Plant with History

Orchids in a Contemporary Key: Expert care for a living beauty—elegant and timeless

From ancient Greece to modern design, orchids have symbolized strength, sensuality, elegance, and longevity. Their unique structure, aerial roots, and blooming patterns defy simplicity.

To care for an orchid is to understand a different kind of life—and that, in itself, is a form of modern luxury.

6. Botanical Epilogue

Orchids in a Contemporary Key: Expert care for a living beauty—elegant and timeless

The beauty of an orchid isn’t just in its flower, but in its balance, its process, and how it inhabits space.

If you’re ready to bring orchids into your home or business, Alegría Party Design is here to help—with design, selection, placement, and professional maintenance of orchid plants for residential and commercial settings.

Because design also blooms—and all that is living deserves care.

Until next month, keep blooming,

Cuidados esenciales (Orchid care and design)
  • Luz brillante e indirecta

Designing with Blooms with Francis Yechitch: Small Spaces, Big Blooms–Maximizing Floral Decor in Any Room

Creative floral solutions that turn even the smallest corners into blooming works of art—because great style doesn’t need a lot of space, just a lot of heart.

By Francis Rosales Yechitch

When it comes to floral decor for small spaces, size should never limit your style. Whether you’re working with a compact studio apartment or a cozy corner in your home, flowers can transform even the tiniest spaces into a vibrant, welcoming retreat. As a floral designer, I’ve learned that the key lies in being intentional, creative, and thoughtful with every bloom.

In this edition of Designing with Blooms, I’m sharing some of my favorite strategies for bringing big floral energy into small spaces—without overcrowding or overwhelming your room.

Go Vertical: Wall-Mounted Floral Art

Designing with Blooms with Francis Yechitch

When floor or tabletop space is limited, think upward. Wall-mounted flower installations are not only space-saving but can also become an artistic focal point in your home. You can use a simple wooden frame, floating shelf, or vertical trellis to create a living floral gallery.

✿ Floral Insight by Francis: Choose long-lasting flowers like orchids, dried lavender, or preserved roses for a design that remains beautiful over time.

Floating Floral Displays: Light, Airy, and Elegant

Designing with Blooms with Francis Yechitch

Floating florals bring a touch of magic to any room. Whether placed in clear bowls of water, hanging from invisible threads, or displayed in delicate glass orbs, these arrangements create a dreamy and ethereal feel.

✿ Floral Insight by Francis: Use flowers with strong petals like gardenias or ranunculus, and pair them with candles or mirrors to enhance the visual effect without taking up surface space.

Embrace the Power of Minimalism

Designing with Blooms with Francis Yechitch

In smaller areas, less is often more. A single, perfectly placed bloom in a slender vase can say more than a full bouquet. Minimalist floral design emphasizes form, texture, and line—making each petal shine.

✿ Floral Insight by Francis: Use neutral-colored vessels and let the flower be the star. A single anthurium, tulip, or calla lily can create an elegant impact on a small desk, shelf, or bathroom counter.

Micro-Bouquets for Micro-Moments

floral decor for small spaces

Tiny bouquets placed throughout your home can make a big emotional impact. Try placing one next to your bedside, on your kitchen window sill, or even in your shower niche.

✿ Floral Insight by Francis: Group three small vases in different shapes and fill them with seasonal sprigs—like baby’s breath, eucalyptus, or mini sunflowers—for a dynamic yet subtle look.

Multi-Functional Floral Accents

floral decor for small spaces

When space is limited, every item should work twice as hard. Think about flower arrangements that double as bookends, centerpiece trays with built-in flower holders, or mini planters that also store makeup brushes or pens.

✿ Floral Insight by Francis: I love incorporating florals into unexpected objects like vintage teacups, candle jars, or small ceramic pitchers. This adds charm and utility at once.

Think About Flow and Color

floral decor for small spaces

In tight spaces, it’s crucial that floral arrangements complement the existing decor rather than compete with it. Soft hues, simple textures, and intentional placement can create harmony without clutter.

✿ Floral Insight by Francis: Pick a color palette of two to three tones and repeat them across your floral accents for a cohesive, calming effect.

Rotate and Refresh Regularly

floral decor for small spaces

Fresh blooms have energy—and rotating your mini floral setups every week keeps your home feeling lively and new. Even switching up the vase or changing the room a flower is placed in can breathe fresh life into your decor.

✿ Floral Insight by Francis: Sundays are my favorite day to refresh my home florals. It becomes a mindful ritual that sets the tone for the week ahead.

Final Thoughts

Small spaces are full of potential. With a bit of creativity and love for detail, floral decor for small spaces can add warmth, beauty, and intention to any corner of your home. Remember—it’s not about the size of the space; it’s about the joy you cultivate within it.

Until next month, keep blooming,

Espacios Pequeños, Grandes Flores: Cómo Potenciar la Decoración Floral en Cualquier Habitación

(Floral Decor for Small Spaces)

Parisian Whimsy for Easter: Alegria Party Design Brings Haute Table Styling to Life

By Lissette Rondon | #Collaboration  An exclusive décor experience that turns Easter into a celebration of elegance, symbolism, and springtime charm

A Stylish Easter Gathering at Home

This Easter, my dinner table was transformed into something extraordinary—an enchanting celebration of spring, friendship, and Parisian elegance. For the second time this year, I had the pleasure of welcoming the talented team behind Alegria Party Design into my home: CEO and floral designer Francis Rosales Yechitch, and his creative partner, fashion designer Samy Gicherman.

Following the success of their haute couture-inspired Valentine’s Day décor, Francis and Samy returned with a new vision. This time, they wanted to create something different, unexpected, and deeply meaningful. Their goal? To capture the spirit of Easter while infusing it with the timeless sophistication of Paris.

Easter table decor by Alegria Party Design

The Floral Story Behind the Table

As always, Francis arrived with a beautiful selection of fresh flowers. For this Easter table, he blended yellow and bright tulips, delicate stock, soft pink ranunculus, and rich red roses. Each bloom was carefully arranged in petite vases, stretching down the center of the table. They were paired with tall pink tapered candles that, once lit, glowed in soft coral hues.

Every setting featured elegant floral porcelain plates. He paired them with a super smooth napkin in very pale green, tied in a loose knot for a refined, effortless style.

“For me, every table is a canvas. I don’t just want to decorate—I want to make people feel something. Easter is about rebirth and joy, so I wanted this table to reflect softness, elegance, and that sense of magical renewal that spring brings.”
— Francis Rosales Yechitch

These joyful florals—mixed with whimsical ceramic bunnies, crystal goblets, mini lamps, and romantic candlelight—created a tablescape that felt intimate, luxurious, and full of springtime charm.

An explosion of color and candlelight: Alegria Party Design’s Easter creation at Lissette’s home.

The Parisian Inspiration by Samy Gicherman

When I asked Samy about his inspiration for this setting, he gave me a poetic and unexpected answer. His vision was rooted in the timeless style of Paris:

“Black is an iconic color of Paris thanks to Coco Chanel, who made it the symbol of elegance. Paris is the fashion capital, and black has always ruled the runway,” he shared.

“Pink, on the other hand, represents femininity, romance, and classic beauty. Designers like Dior and Givenchy embraced it fully. Dior even called it ‘the color of happiness.’”

He also referenced the dramatic palette of the Moulin Rouge, the romantic lens of Édith Piaf’s La Vie en Rose, and the glamour of Paris’ Art Nouveau era. With this symbolic approach, the table became more than a seasonal celebration. It transformed into a work of art that blended history, elegance, and emotion.

Custom Design that Feels Like Couture

What I admire most about Alegria Party Design is their dedication to personalization. Each table they create tells a unique story. This Easter setup felt completely different from our Valentine’s Day collaboration. Yet, it carried the same couture energy that made both experiences unforgettable.

Francis and Samy don’t simply decorate—they design with intention and heart. Their passion brings beauty to the table in every sense.

Every detail matters: Floral china, tied napkins, and custom flower mixes complete the vision.

Breaking the Rules of Romance: Alegria Party Design’s Haute Couture-Inspired Valentine’s Day Décor

Luxury Valentine’s Day Décor | For Valentine’s Day, Lissette Rondon, Editorial Director of Miami Fashion Spotlight, envisioned a setting beyond the ordinary—one that redefined romance with artistry, sophistication, and a couture-inspired aesthetic. In collaboration with Alegria Party Design, led by Artistic Director Francis Rosales and Fashion Creative Samy Gicherman, a one-of-a-kind concept was born. The result? A breathtaking, marine-inspired masterpiece that transcends traditional Valentine’s Day décor. This exclusive design merges the serene elegance of the ocean with the couture craftsmanship of luxury event styling. More than just a table setting, it became an immersive experience that captured the essence of fashion, beauty, and romance.

The Vision: A Valentine’s Dream Beyond Tradition

Lissette Rondon wanted something extraordinary—a setting that felt fashion-forward, elegant, and unique. She asked for a bespoke tablescape, steering away from the expected red roses and pink hearts. “Something different, unique, and out of this world.” With this challenge in mind, Francis Rosales and Samy Gicherman designed a Valentine’s Day concept that broke the rules of romance. Their inspiration came from the tranquil beauty of the sea, bringing together elements that felt ethereal, luxurious, and unexpected.

Designing the Marine-Inspired Romance

The final setup? A breathtaking masterpiece where the tranquility of the ocean met high fashion aesthetics. The tablescape unfolded like a visual symphony. Soft oceanic blues, delicate blush pinks, and shimmering golds blended seamlessly, capturing the ethereal beauty of a sunrise over crystal-clear waters. Every hue was intentionally layered, creating a dreamscape where fashion and nature coexisted in perfect harmony.

The floral arrangements were nothing short of couture. A carefully curated selection of delphinium, peonies, hydrangeas, roses, sweet pea, and thistle mimicked the fluid movement of ocean waves. To enhance the understated opulence, the table featured:
– Pearls and gold accents, adding a timeless, elegant touch.
– Intricate marine elements, such as starfish, coral textures, and ocean-inspired napkin rings featuring seahorses and crabs.
– Glassware in translucent blues, mirroring the depth of the sea.
– Candlelit ambiance and sheer flowing fabric, creating an editorial-worthy atmosphere.

“This was not just a Valentine’s Day table,” says Lissette Rondon. “It was a curated experience of romance and luxury. Every detail felt intentional, like a carefully designed haute couture gown—where textures, movement, and emotion all played a role in the storytelling.”

The Visionaries Behind the Design: Francis Rosales, Artistic Director of APD, and Designer Samy Gicherman
Francis Rosales, Creative Director of Alegria Party Design.

“When Lissette came to us, she had a clear request—something that defied tradition,” shares Rosales. “She didn’t want the usual Valentine’s Day setup. That gave us the creative freedom to design a setting that felt modern, and couture-inspired.”

MFS: This Valentine’s Day décor was a bespoke creation for Lissette Rondon. How did you ensure the design reflected her signature style and appreciation for high fashion?

Francis: “For us, designing a Valentine’s Day table for Lissette was about translating her love for uniqueness into a luxurious reality. We focused on details that captured her sophisticated and fashion-forward aesthetic, ensuring the final ambiance was both elegant and deeply personal. Every design decision was made with her distinctive taste in mind, from the soft, oceanic blues to the bold, sculptural floral arrangements.”

Lissette (smiling): “I told Francis, ‘no pressure, surprise me, but no red roses, no pink hearts—let’s break the rules of Valentine’s Day décor!’”

Francis (laughs): “No pressure, right? But that’s what I love about working with you—you always inspire us to push boundaries and create something spectacular.”

MFS: Your designs are known for being bold, extravagant, and fashion-forward. What was your creative vision for this tablescape?

Francis: “For this haute couture-inspired Valentine’s décor, we looked to Sanibel and Captiva Islands, a romantic retreat beloved by Lissette and her husband Frank. Just like a couture collection tells a story, this setting was designed to feel timeless, elegant, and deeply personal. Every detail—from the sculptural florals to the oceanic textures—was meticulously curated to exude romantic sophistication while remaining fashion-forward. The combination of florals, pearls, custom tableware, and ethereal candlelight made the final setting feel otherworldly yet deeply intimate.”

MFS: Luxury event styling, is about personalization, exclusivity, and setting trends. How does APD bring that philosophy to private settings like this one?

Francis: “At Alegria Party Design, we approach high-end event styling the way a couture house approaches fashion—every element is meticulously curated, ensuring it feels like a work of art. For this project, we combined luxury event styling with fashion aesthetics, creating a tailored, trendsetting experience that was uniquely Lissette’s.”

Infusing Fashion Sensibility Into Every Detail: Luxury Valentine’s Day Décor
Samy Gicherman. Fashion Designer and Creative Associate of Alegria Party Desing.

“Just as in haute couture, luxury event styling is about layering textures, coordinating colors, and creating harmony between elements,” says Samy Gicherman. “This design wasn’t just about beauty; it was about evoking emotion, making the table feel alive, fluid, and captivating.”

MFS: You are known for your eye for luxury and impeccable attention to detail in fashion. How do you bring that same couture sensibility into Alegria Party Design’s décor projects?

Samy: “For me, event styling is an extension of fashion—it’s about understanding how elements like textures, movement, and intricate details come together to create a statement of elegance. Just like in fashion design, everything must be perfectly balanced, refined, and intentional. This was a tablescape designed to inspire—much like a haute couture runway piece.”

MFS: Luxury is always in the details—whether in fashion or event décor. What are the standout elements in this table setting that truly make it a statement of elegance?

Samy: “This Valentine’s Day décor is filled with statement details—intricate floral arrangements, luxurious marine textures, soft candlelight, and custom-curated tableware. The combination of delicate blooms, pearl accents, and elegant blue glassware gave the setting an unparalleled sense of refinement and exclusivity.”

Francis (jumps in with a grin): “And of course, we couldn’t have done this without our top-secret creative meetings, which always start with a gossip session about the fashion world.”

Lissette (laughs): “Oh please, that’s half the fun! We can’t just work—we need to discuss what’s happening in Paris, Milan, and New York. The drama, the trends, the scandals!”

Samy (adds, playfully): “And let’s be real—half of the best design ideas come after a little celebrity fashion gossip.”

A Statement of Luxury and Exclusivity

This “out of this world” Valentine’s Day tablescape is a perfect example of how event styling can transcend décor and become a sensory experience. Alegria Party Design has once again proven that true luxury lies in the details, in the ability to turn a simple request into a stunning reality that captivates and inspires. “True luxury isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about emotion, experience, and the art of storytelling,” concludes Lissette Rondon. “And this table wasn’t just décor—it was a dream brought to life.”
