Honey Shine, Inc. the mentoring program for young girls founded by Tracy Wilson Mourning, celebrated the 15-year anniversary of its Hats Off Luncheon on Saturday May 13th at Loews Hotel Miami Beach.
Raising well over $200k, more than 400 guests attended the flapper-themed event, including Mourning’s husband Alonzo Mourning, host committee members Norma Jean Abraham, Ayana Boucher, Kalyn James,Maria Lowe, Monisha Melwane, Jacqueline Nickelberry¸ Shari Rochester¸ and Nadine Valme, Mistress of Ceremonies Neki Mohan, Board Members Sabrina Gallo, Dr. Roslyn Clark Arts, Mathew Beatty¸ Lydia Desnovers,Marie McKenzie, Rebecca Ocariz, and Sofia Samuels, and VIP attendees Fabrice Tardieu, Sky Watson¸ Shani Chin, Trish Carroll and Lauren Arkin. Honored was Madeleine Arison of Carnival Cruise Lines for her longtime support of the cause. The highlight of the luncheon was a runway show featuring the “Honey Bugs” — the Honey Shine mentees, who strutted their stuff on the catwalk.
