Following its triumphant return to the big stages to acclaim, the Miami Symphony Orchestra (MISO) continues to thrill, enthrall and inspire with its outdoor concerts and latest performance at the Adrienne Arsht Center. In addition to the traditional repertoire where they interpret the great composers of classical music, MISO concerts feature pieces such as the National Anthem of Ukraine to the unforgettable themes of Édith Piaf.
Fly with MISO: The Magic returns
But this time, the magic returns with a boarding ticket to ‘FLY WITH MISO’, a unique and majestic show that was presented in February 2020 just before the world changed. Due to the pandemic, it was one of the last concerts of the orchestra before quarantine, which is why it returns renewed and full of surprises.
“We are re-defining the itinerary and we will resume the mega show with a new repertoire that will include a musical journey through Asia, South America, the United States and Europe that includes musical visits to Miami, New York, Seville, Venice, Madrid, Paris, Tokyo, Argentina, among other cities”, said Maestro Eduardo Marturet, Music Director & Conductor of MISO, who highlighted that normality is recovering more and more strongly in concerts, generating a fabulous and moving feedback with the public.
Special Guests
The show will have special guests such as Russian-Ukrainian violinist Alexander Markov, Venezuelan singer and actress Mariaca Semprun, and the world-renowned french pianist Christie Julien. Big stars join the trip that will be led by Cuban actor Roberto Escobar and actress and MISO ambassador Athina Klioumi as hostess of the show. You will enjoy masterpieces such as The Grand Finale by Alexander Markov, George Gershwin’s I Got Rhythm, La Vie en Rose by Edith Piaf, Verano porteño’, by Astor Piazzolla, and the world premiere of Beyond John Lennon’s Dream, by Marcos Campos-Salas. Additionally, you will have the privilege of hearing a world premiere piece composed by Dr. Santiago Bonora, Music for Plants, where the plants will sing.
In addition, ‘FLY with MISO’ will be produced by MISO’s Executive Produced for Special Events Fernando Duprat.
On the other hand, extolling the female presence in Women’s Month, MISO stands out for being an orchestra where 50% of its musicians are women, and for representing a repertoire with a strong and powerful female presence throughout the year.
