Viviana Gabeiras, creative director and owner of the American Lifestyle brand Petit Pois by Viviana G was given a grant by the state of Florida to represent it at the well known show in Japan “Fashion World Tokyo” and displaying her new Spring 2019 collection “Emancipation“ inspired on freedom, liberation and women empowering. For 20 years she has operated, produced and fully-run on site in Miami, Florida, in her own manufacturing plant, proudly “Made in The USA”, with her husband Rafael Gabeiras and her children.

On November 16, 2018, Viviana Gabeiras will be honored by “Perla de Esperanza” Foundation with the “Inspirational Women Award” at the 4th annual gala Women Inspirational Award 2018 among 15 outstanding women. Every year this honor is given to a role model woman who has been contributing to society and are an example in life and business such as philanthropy, fashion, art, media and education, among others. The gala will take place at The Intercontinental Hotel in Doral City under a lavish Arabian styled-theme. A total empowered women supporting women event.

Also known as Viviana G, born in Venezuela but a world’s daughter as she calls herself after a study of her astral sign Gemini discovered that “She belongs no-where but belongs to the world”; she finally understood why she never felt a place as her home and always has the feeling of not belonging. After launching in 1996 the brand “Sweet Pea”, one of the most famous mesh lines in the USA and running her factory to produce other designers’ brands, she decided to gain her independence and dedicate herself fully to her brand. In 2000, she registered and trademark Petit Pois by Viviana G, and reopened once again her factory.

She studied in Paris and in New York and 1984 she graduated from Parsons School of Design among luminary names such as Marc Jacobs, Isaac Mizrahi & Tracy Reece. During her career, she was awarded with “The CILA Award” in New York City in 2007, “Best Pret a Porter Style Award” at Miami Fashion Week in 2013, and Women in the Arts honored her with “Iconic Woman Award”, and in 2014 Miami Fashion Week honored her with the Humanitarian Award as “Miami Icon Designer”. She uses her public influence to help others , she also serves as a Board Member of The Fashion Group International of South Florida fighting for the recognition and respect of Miami Designers and with her pro “Made in USA” attitude, she and her husband were honored and received in 2017 the Keys of The City of Miami-Dade County by Mayor Carlos Jimenez in recognition for the years of supporting the Arts & Fashion and the Made in Miami movement.

About Fashion World Tokyo

Fashion World Tokyo is Japan’s largest fashion trade show, making it one of the most important and influential events in Asia. The fair is held twice a year at the Big Sight Convention Center in Tokyo supporting international commerce by showcasing designers from around the globe. Petit Pois by Viviana G was highlighted in a special section named “American Street”.

About Perla La Esperanza

Perla de Esperanza is a non profit organization founded in 2009 in Miami, Florida. Its mission is to educate and support women that have been suffering from physical and psychological abuse by offering them workshops, counseling and group therapy among others resources in pro of helping them overcome the after-effects of abuse. The founder Roxana Silvera and her team of wonderful women dedicate time and host fundraising events every year to help the foundation programs and needs. One of its largest events is The Annual Inspirational Women Award which brings many followers,  sponsors and media to help promote such a humanitarian cause.
