On March 17, 2022, Zacapa Rum joined The Latin American Fashion Summit in Miami for their closing night celebration of emerging fashion during Women’s History Month.
Zacapa proudly joined forces with LAFS for a cocktail reception and seated dinner at the DuPont building to close out a truly impactful week centered around the shared mission of amplifying talented Latin American voices.

The week’s final dance brought together fashion powerhouses and entrepreneurs, Atenas Hernández, Tuti Barrera, Jessica Barboza, Emilia and Elisa Ochoa, Rafaella Raffo and more alongside Zacapa Brand Ambassador Chef Grace Ramirez and Zacapa Master Blender Lorena Vásquez immersing themselves in the ‘magical realism’ theme. Exciting up and coming designers shared energy from a productive week, with many creatives including Kika Vargas and Johanna Ortiz inspiring electrifying energy when responding to the question “who are you wearing tonight?” with the satisfying answer, “Well, me.”
The ‘PITCH to LAFS’ Winners and More…
The programming portion of the evening concluded with the announcement of the three ‘PITCH to LAFS’ winners. Previous winners included popular emerging designers including Kika Vargas and Maygel Coronel. The 2022 PITCH to LAFS award winners were: Port de Bras, Annaiss Yucra, and last but not least, Susana Vega Jewelry.
At the event, attendees enjoyed cocktails from the Zacapa Rum’s Mujeres Fuertes Cocktail Collection: a collection of drinks inspired by the strong women behind Zacapa Rum in honor of Women’s History Month. El Picaflor, Vamos a Bailar, and La Infusión were served, delighting guests with Zacapa Rum No. 23 and seasonal flavors including passionfruit, basil, ginger, and pineapple.
